If you don't know what Granny is, you're a newborn or you live in Atlantis, it's been the rave on mobile as that free game where an elderly woman hits you with a baseball bat and has a reputation of being absolutely terrifying. Rightly so, when you start off in that ominous bedroom, with no context as to why you were there, it's nerve racking. But it's not perfect, with ads spoiling a moment of glory and omnidirectional audio mechanics, this scare fest has a lot to fix to be a true creepypasta.

Let's discuss the good. Every time the developer updates the game, it is improved on, with new items, areas, secrets and bug fixes. The aim of the game is simple, escape the house without getting abused by Granny, you have 5 attempts before you lose your head. But the method to escaping is complex, hard and has a lot of RNG involved.

Considering how I struggled with winning on Easy, I can't bare to imagine what Hard mode and Extreme are like. And since Granny isn't consistent and you cannot hear her footsteps when she's directly behind you, leading to a lot of bullshit deaths.

The game can feel repetitive after a while, the novelty wears off and you just want to leave that hellish house. I will admit, the lore is subtle, but it's there. If you put a teddy in a crib, a ghost appears, changing the music and if you're lucky enough, you'll get a different ending once you escape the house. The ghost is confirmed to be Slenderina, another monstrosity by this developer. (Not in a bad way.) Who has 10 games to frighten me even more, from what I've seen, they're more similar to Slenderman.

Final Verdict - 6/10
