7 Who Will Rule?

POV Emma

Today will be a special day. My big brother has his 18th birthday finally. He is so lucky! Maybe Manny lets him decide now, whether he can be guardian or not.  I have so many plans! I have baked a cake for him and there is going to be a show of flowers. They will grow from the seeds that I carefully placed to hallway, when they are blooming it will be like a picture from him.

I hear voices and I ran quickly to downstairs. There is everyone from the guardians, there is also Anna, Kristoff and Sofia also arrived. This will be so much fun! My job was to lure Jackie to his secret birthday party.

I wave my hand to everyone and they wish me good luck. How hard it could be to get him here?

“Absolutely not!” Jackie said while he was drawing a landscape. “Please! I have a surprise!” I begged from him. ”No, I have told you that I don’t want to go back to the ice castle,” he sighed. It is time to use some heavy artillery.

“Jackie, you’re mean!” I sob and my voice breaks. He looks at me, ”Don’t you try that trick on me!” I but more feeling to my act and he jumps up from his chair. “Fine! Stop crying, I am coming!” He walks outside and I do a winning gesture, fake crying always works on him.

He opens castle’s twin doors and I can hear the cheerful voices. Everyone is congratulating him. Jackie turns around and stares at me, for my relief he starts to smile. “Oh, so this is what you guys have been up to for few days!” He walks in.

We had a huge celebration this year. He managed to get along with our parents, even with mum even  though he startled when she hugged him. When evening came Jackie said all of us his goodbyes. He was going to travel to Arendelle to have some fun with his friends. Human friends.

I waved my goodbyes to him. He blasted away. When I went inside I heard a conversation. “Elsa and Jack. The time has come,” Anna was talking to my parents. “Sofia is engaged to future king of Southern Isles and they will have their wedding two years from now, when she is 19 and the future king is 21. And so it has happened, as we were afraid of. Either Jackie or Emma will be the ruler or Arendelle will be left without a heir to throne,” aunt Anna told. I leaned against the wall. One of us, the king or queen? I want to be a guardian and Jackie hasn’t still had his opportunity to choose. To be honest I really don’t know what he will do.

I ran upstairs, I didn’t want to hear the rest. Then I heard steps closing my door, I buried my head onto my pillow. It was my mother. “Emma, I saw you running of. You heard it?” Mum patted my back. ”Yes, I did. Please don’t force us!” I exhaled and she smiled. ”No one will force you to do anything!”

I hug her and she hugs me back. Then I sense something. “Mum?” I look at her into eyes. “Yes sweetie?” I touch her belly, “Why didn’t you tell us that we are having a baby sister or brother?” She gasped when she heard my question. “N-no, it can’t be possible,” she touched her stomach. “Yes it is mother! I can feel the new life!” I squealed in excitement. I am becoming a big sister!

“What is this fuss about?” Dad came to my room. “W-w-we,” mum struggled with her words. “I am going to be a big sister!” Dad dropped his staff and he stared at us. Then he laughed and run to mum, lifting her up. He kissed her, I wonder if he was this happy when they found about me and Jackie. “I love you all!” Dad hugged me and mum. ”H-how are we going to tell to Jackie? I mean he just started to speak with me,” mum sounded sad.

They left my room and went downstairs. Dad tried to cheer mum up. I heard my window opening. “Hello Emma,” someone said with mysterious voice. “Have you learned anything new?” Pitch smiled to me. “Yes!” I made the plants in my room turn to black and he laughed happily. “Good job, a nice start for our friendship,” he patted my head before he left.
