Ae Sook's POV

"So, Ae Sook" my dad says from the chair beside my mom's and I quickly swallow down my food at look at him with questioning eyes.

"Do you remember that wonderful ball that takes place every year?" He asks me.

"Yes, of course! The one you would never allow me to go to even though almost every friend of mine went" I say eagerly.

"Uh yes, that one" He nods.

"What about it?"

"Well... I am allowing you to join us this year" he says with a small smile.

"Wait. WHAT?!"

"Ow! My ears aren't meant for screaming into" Taehyung pipes up from beside me.

"Are you serious, abeoji?" I ask, completely ignoring Taehyung.

My dad gives me a slight nod and I beam at him.

"When is it?"

"In about two weeks' time" My mother says.

"Yay!" I squeal a little.

I spend the rest of my dinner smiling throughout.

"Come help me wash the plates, darling" My mom says to me.

"I'll do it today aunty", Taehyung says, acting like a gentleman and I roll my eyes.

"Oh no it's fine, darling. You help enough around here" Taehyung flashes a smile at my mom's words and thanks her for the food before retreating to his bedroom

"So... There is a little problem" my mom says after we're halfway through the dishes.

"Oh? What is it?"

"A date. It's mandatory for you to have a date to a ball like this. There'll be families and not a single person above 16 will be without a date" my mom says.

"Well, I have Namjoon you know" I smile.

"Oh! Yes! Bring him by sometime, it's been a while since we've seen that boy."

I nod.

After the dishes, I bid my parents goodnight and went up to my room to complete some last minute homework.

It's been around a month since Namjoon and my first date. We still haven't kissed and I'm feeling extremely bad and guilty of... Depriving him. But, the gentleman that he is, he is waiting.

As I pick up the pen to do my last piece of homework for the day, my bedroom door opens and I sigh.

"Yes Taehyung?"

"Am I really that predictable?" He grins his boxy grin and I smile at him lightly.

"I just wanted to say that the ball is a very fun place and there are quite a few people our age from other schools and not everyone is stuck up. Namjoon will definitely take care of you and just have fun" he says as he awkwardly turns to leave.

"Thanks for the random advice" I laugh and he shrugs his shoulders, his hands still in his pockets as he exits my room.

That confusing soul.

I finish my homework quickly and call up Ah Reum.

"UNNI. MY PARENTS ARE ALLOWING ME TO GO TO THE BALL!" I shouted into the phone.
