Two-
It was nighttime and very quiet outside, though I didn't have the pleasure to enjoy said peace. "Sir, we have to do something about Onett," A man said slamming his fist down on the table where we were sitting. My face showed nothing as I turned towards Master Porky, "What do you mean do something'?" he grumbled crossing his legs. "I mean, it's a wreak! And the only people that live there are jobless rats," The man who was speaking I now recognize as Fassad, one of Master Porky's advisors. He was trying to get rid of Onett was it? Oh well, burn it down for all I care and be done with it. Master Porky sat up in his seat his smile now replaced with a more serious look as Fassad went on,"I think we should clear the town out all together and use the land for expansion." he proposed,"Fassad, you do know I'm not an idiot right?". Master Porky replied crossing his fingers together and leaning forward. Fassad looked nervous,"U-Um, yes sir...why do you ask?" Master Porky hummed and glanced towards me,"Clausy, please explain what's wrong with his plan." I nodded slightly,"Well sir-"
"Are you really goings to let this-this child tell me what to do?" Fassad asked cutting me off angrily. Master Porky twitched causing the other man to shut his mouth,"I suggest you let him finish." he hummed with an ominous gaze. I cleared my throat quietly,"Sir. Even if we were to go to destroy Onett it would take a lot of power to flatten the land afterwards. And we don't even know what kind of people live there anymore. It'd be too risky to send a battalion." I said then took my seat. Master Porky stroked my cheek,"Good boy." it took a lot out of me not to cringe. "So you see Fassad, we have no idea what's there. And to figure that out I'd need to send a spy, as much as I would love the land I don't trust any of those idiots to be a good enough agent." Fassad tapped his fingers on the table, he wasn't going to give up easy. His face suddenly brightened,"Send Claus." What!?
"What?" Master Porky asked bewildered. Fassad nodded,"Claus. You trust him don't you? He's smart, small, and best of all he can blend in easily." I raised my eyebrows in shock and felt a hint of interest cross my mind as well. I haven't really been in the field in a while. And I was especially tired of being treated like a pet. "Sir, if I may speak?"
"You may."
"I think I could complete this mission easily sir." I watched as his brain went to work, he was brilliant really. If only he lacked the childish and somewhat creepy nature. "You're sure this is low risk?" Master Porky asked Fassad. The other man nodded,"Of course sir." he paused,"Alright then, let it be done. You may pack for your departure tonight." he said to me.I dipped my head respectfully,"Yes, sir." I said before gracefully walking out of the room. I kept my coordinated figure until walking into my room. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. "Ugh, stupid Fassad running his stupid mouth in the stupid-"
"That's a whole lot of stupid." I heard a voice chuckle. I looked up to see a body on the other side of my window. I opened it, "Officer Fuel." I smiled slightly pulling him inside,"No need to be so formal" he gasped heaving himself into the window."What are you doing here?"
"mail from your brother." Fuel said holding up a yellow envelope. I took it from him careful in opening it. I smiled softly.
Dear, Claus.((hahah bi-))
I often wonder to myself about you, it's hard to be without you. (And not because Dad is difficult) but because I truly miss our time we had together. I know what you're doing is to help us. But I would be lying if I said you should not have stayed. This government is one of the harshest I've seen, I'm grateful we live the life that we do. But I have seen destruction and death in the hearts of others who have made their own ways to Tazmily. I have to go now, but I hope you'll get this.
Yours truly, Lucas.
I ran my fingers on the page before placing it on my desk with the others,"Thanks Fuel." I hummed. Fuel looked at me and dipped his head,"What's with the bag?" he asked. I sighed,"I'm going to Onett." I watched as his face dropped with worry,"What!?" I shushed him with a finger,"It's an assignment. I have to leave now, tell my family...." I looked down,"Tell them I love them okay." I murmured. I felt Fuel wrap his, actually pretty strong, arms around me,"Of course I will." he said quietly then let me go. I sniffed feeling a tear in my eye. Fuel laughed,"God, you're weak." he joked ruffling my hair. "Well, good luck. I'll be praying for you." he gave me a salute before dropping back out of the window. That could be the last time I ever see his face.
