Four-

💙Claus💙

I walked quietly through the streets of the town noticing how beat up and twisted they were. I rolled my eyes, why don't they just move? My gaze was then caught by a bright piece of paper. I walked to it bending over and picking it up to look at it better. It was a map of...what I assumed to be the old Onett. It was colored with different shades of green and blues. On the top it read 'Onett, our great city!' and other cheesy slogans were around the map.

It looked so...alive.

I let out a sigh and placed the map where I found it shaking my head,"What did these people do to it?" I murmured to myself. I walked away from the pile of rubble and looked around, some of these houses looked habitable...but there was nobody here. In fact, the only person I've seen is- that boy. My mind snapped back to him, he looked young...fifteen...sixteen maybe? He also looked dirty and battered, but his eyes held a warm glow to them. Kinda reminds me of Fuel, but even more childish. Which way did he go...? I lifted my head and heard a faint noise. I took a breath before walking towards the sounds...

...

The noise was definitely louder now, it sounded like voices but mixed with weird military horns or something. I stopped in my track as a bright yellowish light shined on my face. My eyes widened. Look at all these people! There was an old man operating some ancient camera or something. An old couple sway softly together to the weird noises. A lot of children were moving their bodies in alarming motions, were they going through cardiac arrest? Whatever it was they seemed to enjoy it. I gazed across the area until I came across a familiar red hatted boy. It's him. He was...smiling? and he was holding his stomach doubled over looking at another boy who looked very similar to him except for his clothes and hair style.  I watched as he stood back up and started talking again. I felt a vibration and looked down at my wrist. I backed into the shadows before turning on the communication device,"Yes, sir?"

"Clausy, is that you?"

"Yes, sir."

"Good. How's the mission coming along."

I hesitated before speaking,"I don't know much yet sir, all I can confirm is that there are in fact human inhabitants."

"Aggressive?"

"No sir..."

"Okay, I'll call you tomorrow. I expect news." he said before hanging up. I pinched the bridge of my nose,"I hate my life." I groaned. I shut the device down and went back to the twinkling lights to see if the boy was still there...not that I really cared it's just nice to have a familiar target is all...

I saw him again at the edge of the area waving at everybody before turning to his attention to his friend and heading out. I felt a weird sensation in my chest. Curiosity. I moved quickly and silently through the outside of the area and slipped out after the two boys. I looked up to see they were a little ways up the hill. I followed at a slow pace and tried to listen into their conversation. "I'm just saying I was this close to scoring." The boy from before laughed loudly.

"Yeah, there's no way you were gonna get that." his friend replied. I followed them as they entered their home. It was a bit shabby, but much better than the others. I watched as the boy's friend went inside but the boy stood at the door seemingly staring at it. He turned around and shot his eyes precisely in my direction. "You can stop following me." he said loudly. I stiffened. How did he...? The boy sat down on the ground,"I don't know who you are but we could feel you when we were walking." he said placing his hands in his lap,"Come on out, don't be shy." I felt my heart quicken. What do I do!? I can't just...well...he doesn't look dangerous. I scanned over him, yeah. I can take him if need be. I let out a short sigh before coming out of the dark. The boy look rather surprised quickly standing up,"It's you again!" he said in an accusing voice. Wow. He's soooo threatening. "Who are you anyway...and what are you doing in Onett?" he asked before he approached me. I cleared my throat 'Say something normal, say something normal.'

"Hello young boy." I replied. 'Dammit' he gave me a weird look,"Um...the name's Ninten...not young boy." he said then laughed a little. Ninten. It won't be hard remembering that. "Again what brings you to Onett?"

"Oh um...sightseeing...." Ninten raised his eyebrow,"Riiiight." I sighed,"I just, uh, wanted to check out the damage here." I lied. He seemed satisfied with that and he shifted,"Well, it's a wreck alright." he crossed his arms then looked back at me,"Wanna go somewhere else to talk?" he asked quietly. I paused before nodding. "Yes."

Ninten grabbed my arm and I quickly yanked it back holding it close to my chest. He jumped at first then smiled,"Heh. Sorry, I got a little ahead of myself. Follow me." he said then turned. I felt a warmth in my face but I ignored it and followed him silently. He led me to the edge of a short drop and sat down motioning for me to sit next to him. I did. He looked out into the distance as if searching for something,"Somewhere out there is where my hometown is." he said softly. He looked at me his eyes reflecting the soft glow of the stars,"And one day I'll find it."he said.

I looked away from his eyes for a second and he made a noise,"Why am I telling a stranger all of this?" he sighed then laid backwards. "So...where are you from?" I asked him still looking at the horizon,"Podunk." he hummed. Podunk? "You mean like the 'broken' city?" I replied. "No." Ninten said,"It's not gone...I...I know it isn't.." he said the last parts very quiet then spoke again,"So what about you Mystery Man? Where do you live." I decided to be partially honest,"I live in New Pork City." Ninten moved,"That's a terrible city you know?" I cringed,"Yeah....it really is."

"Were you born there?" I shook my head,"I was born in Tazmily."

"Well that's better. Why'd ya move?" I sighed,"For work and stuff..." he didn't ask about it anymore. Which was great. "Getting kinda cold you think?" Ninten said with a slight shake in his voice. I shrugged,"Not really." Ninten playfully punched my shoulder,"Yeah, well you've got a jacket city boy." he snickered jokingly. I blinked at him. All he wore was a short sleeved T and jeans...those look...

cold...
