Eight-

We've taken a time skip to a week later. The end of Claus's mission. :')

I don't know what it is about Claus...but I really like him. It might be how dignified he is sometimes, or the way he talks. But it's something. We've only known each other for a week but I've grown fond of him. We did everything together, and he makes me happy....I might even....like him like a best friend. I dunno. I have a hard time thinking about how it was before him. It was kinda boring.

I'm walking next to him now, but he's been very quiet today. I wonder what's eating him. We were heading to our ledge. We neared it and it started raining,"Dang, we should go before it gets to bad." I hissed. Claus grabbed my arm and shook his head. I didn't say anything as he dragged me to the ledge and sat us down.

 "Easy on the arm there kay?" I laughed then looked at Claus's face. It was dull he stared at his shoes. Something's wrong,"Claus?" I said. He looked up water running down his face,"I have to leave..." he whispered. "Leave? Like leave where?" Claus placed his hands on his head running his fingers through his hair,"I have to go home..." I felt my body stiffen,"You can always come back-"

"No I can't!" He yelled out. I jumped,"Woah woah are you oka-" my sentence was cut off by something hitting my leg. I looked down...a badge, I held it up. There was a little glimmer showing the words 'Loyal Officer of The Pigmask Empire.' I looked at him. Why didn't he tell me? Claus covered his face with his hands. "I'm sorry I'm sorry..." he choked out. I was a little confused. I wrapped my arms around his waist,"It's okay.." I hummed. He shook his head,"No, it's not...I didn't want to..."  he pressed his face into my shoulder. "What is it?" I asked,"What did you not want?"

"I didn't want to fall for your stupid face!" he wailed out his cry muffled. I felt my cheeks heat. He likes my face? I mean...it hasn't been long but... I lifted his chin with my finger. "If it makes you feel any better I fell for your dumb hair even harder." he smiled a little the tears being washed away by the rain,"You're so sweet..." he murmured, he seemed to be a bit happier. I then decided to do something that could possibly fuck up my entire life, and his life too. I pulled Claus's face down to where it faced mine quickly pecking his lips with my own,"I'm sorry!" I squeaked. Claus only giggled as much as I did,"Run away with me." he said suddenly then quickly covered his mouth. I furrowed my eyebrows,"What?"

He let out a sigh then began to explain "If they get the information about Onett that I've gained they'll tear it down."

"What?" I gasped,"Why would they do that!?"

 "But if I don't go back, they'll never know." he continued. I raised an eyebrow,

"Aren't you an officer?"

"Commander actually,but it doesn't matter. I can't let this place be torn apart." 

I felt my heart flutter. "I..." I thought about what me leaving would mean to everyone. Mom would be okay...so would my sisters...Tracy and Ness's Mom would be fine to. But Ness.... he was my best friend since forever... 

I bit my lip,"I will go with you." he looked surprised even horrified,"Ninten I was kidding, I don't want you to throw your whole life away because-" he got cut off by something smacking into his face. He groaned and removed it,"Fuckin wind ruined it." he scowled,"Let me see that." I said taking the item. It was a leaf, a rather large one and it was a vibrant green....it was

...green

I rubbed it with my fingers feeling the waxy top and looked up,"It's alive." I exclaimed. Claus blinked,"Well, duh, haven't you ever seen a real leaf before?" I punched him in the shoulder,"That's for the sass."I then stood up,"We're going that way." I said pointing out towards the horizon. Claus stood up too,"You're sure?" I smiled,"As sure as I'll ever be. Now let's hurry before you try to talk me out of it." I said jumping down the ledge and sliding to the ground below. "Come on slowpoke!" I called as Claus carefully skidded down the slope as well.

 I took his arm and he let me lead him into the nowhere. What were we even doing? I looked back at Claus who was probably thinking the same thing,"Wherever we go, it'll be okay as long as you're here." he murmured. 

Gosh it's like he can read my mind. Maybe he can, he's always full of new secrets. It makes things more interesting I think. I dunno. But then again I don't know much about most things. I feel the rain start to seep through my shirt I removed my hat ringing the water out. Gross. "We need to find some clean water." Claus declared. I raised an eyebrow,"Why?"

"Because Ninten, I can't stand the smell of wet dog."

"But there ain't any dogs...." my voice trailed as he broke into a run. Wait a minute.
Processing....processing....

"Hey!" I yelled running after him. Claus let out a loud laugh as I chased him down,"You're a jerk!" I said bumping into him roughly. Claus was out of breath but he still had a smile on his face. And that was more that I could've asked for. Though, I hope we can forget that little 'kiss'
