💙 Claus 💙

Well that was an adventure wasn't it? I was still walking around trying to find somewhere to sleep for the night. I sighed and eventually just decided to sleep under a dead bush because the universe has cursed me so. I laid down and looked at the sky. There were little twinkling things through the dirty fog. I've never noticed those before...were they always there? Hmm. I felt my eyelids droop and sleep sweep over me...

"Claus..."

"Mmmmmph.."

"Claus?"

"Yes Master?"

"Master? Didn't know you were that type of guy." a voice snickered. I blinked my eyes open wincing a little as the light shined in my face. "Who..." I narrowed my eyes as my vision cleared up and I recognized the face. "Ninten, W-how did you find me?" I asked sitting up. Ninten laughed,"It wasn't hard to find a bright orange tuft of hair behind a dead shrub." he said flicking a part of my hair with his hand. I smoothed it back a little. "I um...fine, you have a point. But how did you know it was me?" Ninten held out his hands. I hesitate to grab them and haul myself to my feet. "There aren't many redheads living in Onett. And even still those are all women." he smiled letting my hands go after speaking. I shrugged slightly,"Well, thanks for waking me I guess." Ninten shifted his feet,"No problem. But...why are you sleeping by a bush?" I rubbed my eyes letting out a yawn. How embarrassing. "I didn't have anywhere else to stay last night." Ninten frowned,"You should've told me that. I would've let you sleep with me!" he said then made a noise,"I mean...I would've let you stay at my house." I nudged him,"I know what you meant." I said. Ninten then brightened,"You wanna come with me?"

"Where are we going?"

"just doing to look at the sky and chill out." I was a little confused but I nodded and followed after him. We walked out to a field looking area. I watched Ninten playfully jump and roll in the dark colored grass. I felt a smile creep onto my face. Ninten is...nice I guess. I like him. I got down next to him after he stopped rolling and just laid there. He looked up at the sky distractedly, I don't think he even noticed me sitting beside him. I took this as another opportunity to take in his features, since I've only really ever seen him in the dark. He had brilliant blueish grey eyes and rich dark hair that crept out of his hat by his forehead and ears. His skin was pale, but not as pale as mine, except by his nose and cheeks there was a light shade of pink. Sunburn maybe? He was kinda dirty...did he forget to shower? "You're dirty." I blurted out. Ninten furrowed his eyebrows and turned to me,"Yeah...I am." he said and looked at himself and frowned. I felt panic run through me. Why the hell would I say that!? What if I hurt his feelings? Why do I care so much. I cupped his face with my hands observing his expression,"I'm sorry..." I said quietly. Ninten only looked down messing around with his hands,"It's okay...you didn't mean anything by it." he murmured as I let his face go. "Still." Gosh why am I apologizing? I never...sigh. Ninten was looking down I followed his gaze to see our hands, they were nearly touching but not quite... I looked back at him his face was a little red. He bit his lip and smiled standing up,"We should go to the house...find you some room for later." he said,"You are staying another night right?" I nodded and held out my arm. His eyes softened and he grabbed my hand walking me to his home...

After a while I had gotten a bit...unnerved holding his hand so I had let go. Ninten didn't seem to mind or care about it. I crossed my arms as he knocked on the door,"Ninten." he screamed before opening the door. He motioned for me to follow him. I did. I looked around, it looked a little smaller on the outside, but it was a little roomy here. There were blankets and a few toys scattered about. "Nobody's home, son guess we're free to hang or whatever." Ninten called from another room. I followed his voice and saw him lying on a small bed. I sat next to him,"So...this is where you live?"

"Yeah, it's not that great but...it's okay." he hummed. "Who lives with you?"

"My mom and sisters, and Ness, Tracy, and their mom." I shifted,"Where are they?" he sat up,"the Moms are probably shopping. Tracy and my sissys are probably in town. Ness is in his treehouse." I nodded after he finished. "Wanna go out now?" asked a bit eager to leave the house. Ninten blinked,"Sure, where do you want to go?"
"I want trees."
Ninten laughed loudly,"Why did you say it like that? Okay, we'll go look for some, weirdo." he chuckled and got up me doing the same...

We got out of the house, and I was glad. I didn't like think of Ninten such a place.
