It was hours after Mr. Black came. At first, we all were in the glass room, him acting like the father, watching them play and talk about how their days were. I was silent the whole time, I didn't really know how to react. Austin had his moments too, whenever he got dragged to thinking, he would show that he was happy and joke around with Robert and Alex. But now that catching up was over, Mr. Black, his men Julian and Chase were in the farthest room by the big windows on the second floor, and Austin was with them. I didn't think anything big or bad was going on, Mr. Black didn't seem like the guy to be abusing or torturing them, it sounded like nothing was happening and I couldn't hold it back. I walked from my room, around the corner and passed the stairs, another the corner of the other side and stopped at their door. I slowly leaned my head to the door and listened, Latin filled the room as they talked, but by now, I understood every single word of that language.
"You weren't supposed to get her until next week, my son," Mr. Black said
"I know, but it wasn't safe," Austin said
"You were supposed to follow orders!" Mr. Black raised his voice, "No matter the cost."
"Aries," Austin said quietly
A minute of silence filled the room before Mr. Black spoke up again.
"Aries?" Mr. Black questioned
Another second of silence.
"How did Aries find her?" Mr. Black asked
"He found her at a coffee shop," Austin replied
"What was she doing at a coffee shop, Austin?" Mr. Black questioned again
"She needed...She needed space from me." Austin said a bit louder this time
"You weren't supposed to let her out of your sight, now Jasper and his wolves are looking for her." Mr. Black said. He didn't raise his voice that time.
The room was silent until Mr. Black spoke up again.
"You've...engraved..."
"No, no, I didn't, I-I-I haven't," Austin said
"My son, it is written all over your face," Mr. Black said
"I didn't think it would be a problem, I can't control it, you know that," Austin said
"You have the balls to talk back to me like that?" Mr. Black asked, his voice still the same, "And why did you think it would be a problem?"
A minute of silence went by before Austin spoke with one breath, "She had a vision about her death, her-her knowledge of creatures have gained, she understands our tongued language, we don't think she's human anymore..."
More silence, "She is your mission,"
"I know father," Austin replied
"I tried to stop you from engraving on her when you two met six years ago," Mr. Black said, my eyes widen at the flower vase next to the door, an oil painting of a woman and a boy; she wore a pink Victorian dress and her son was dressed in a victorian suit. "I guess I just couldn't stop it after all."
Another moment of silence, "And you're right, she isn't human...Not for much longer. The final form will start tonight."
"Who is she replacing?" Austin asked quickly, shook in his voice.
Nothing, more silence. I then heard heavy footsteps coming to the door. I tried to move and get out of view but Austin was too quick, he opened the door, seeing me, as he slowly closed the door behind him. Austin's eyes turned to light blue, carrying worry. We didn't say anything for a bit, but I broke the silence.
