Ok this one was really hard to write, it's still Derek's POV but it's a lot longer and has a lot of details in it about white wolves and stuff. If anything doesn't makes sense feel free to ask me.

Also, it sort of feels like I'm losing readers and I know I've added stories to my library before that have only a few chapters and just read the first and then waited for a few more to be added before I continue so I know some of you might be doing that, but I'd really like some feedback from you guys. I'm sort of writing blindly here and it would help if I knew what you thought.

Anyway, enjoy the chapter :)

DEREK POV:

"Derek what's up?" Tommy mind links me in confusion to my gasp
"sh-she's my mate"
"Fuck" is all he manages to say in return

I pull open the cell door, which like Tommy said, is unlocked. It creaks on its hinges as I slowly step inside. Tommy waits outside the cell as I walk carefully towards my mate, not wanting to frighten her. Has she even realised I'm here? What if she has and she doesn't want me? Hurt flashes through me at the thought of our mate rejecting us.

It takes me a second to realise Drake isn't even paying attention, instead he's whimpering about something else. Wait, Drake is whimpering? Since when does my wolf, the most aggressive and feared wolf whimper?
'What's wrong, Drake?'
'Her wolf...'
'What's the matter with her wolf?'
'I can't talk to her, we need to make eye contact for her to realise we're her mate'
I take a few more steps until I'm in front of her and I crouch down, "Look at me sweetheart"
No response. She completely ignores my request. Am I that terrible? Does she not want me that badly? No. I will not let her go. "Avery. Look at me." I say more sternly.

She ever so slowly lifts her head away from the blanket and I hold my breath waiting to see what she looks like. Drake starts doing goddamned backflips in my mind in joy. My bright blue eyes meet her green ones. They're beautiful but so lifeless. I can tell she once had some bright gold speckles in them but they're so dim now, so full of pain...and fear. Sudden realisation must hit her that I'm her mate and her eyes cloud over in pure terror. Drake immediately stops, 'Derek her wolf isn't talking to me...'

I swear I think she stopped breathing at one point, only to start hyperventilating a moment after. She backs up along the wall, shuffling as far away from me as fast as she possibly can. In her rushing the blanket she had wrapped around herself slipped off her shoulders a bit, revealing her arms and shoulders to me.

I'm immediately fighting down an absolutely furious Drake, trying to take over my body and rip the heads off whoever did that to our beautiful mate. I let out a deafening growl at the sight of her arms. Heavy bruising covers her wrists, forearms and shoulders. But on top of the bruising on her wrists are deep red open wounds, as if someone's had her cuffed or tied up for a long time. I immediately jump up and away from her, not wanting to lose my battle with my wolf and shift too close to her, and accidentally hurt her in the process. I don't have time to shift now. I need to find out who the fuck did this to my mate.

My fist connects with the brick wall in an attempt to release some of my fury. Dust and rock fly everywhere and I move further along and do it again, and again and again until I've run out of wall. My eyes are pitch black as I briefly look into the mirror above the small sink, before smashing it with my fist and ripping the sink from the wall, throwing it across the room and moving on to the mattress. Oh god, Tommy said she was scared of the mattress, what the fuck has been done to her that she'd rather the cold hard floor? My semi-extended claws rip through the thick fabric of it like a hot knife through butter. Springs fly everywhere as I look for more things to smash.
