Chapter 15 (part 1)

Hi guys I know there was a little mix up with the last chapter being reposted and me ultimately losing this chapter which absolutely sucked for all of us. This is super duper short but I wanted you guys to at least have the first part of the chapter whilst I work on retyping the second half. This is just a sweet little moment between Derek and Avery while he's probably starting to realise how much she's missed out on in life. Next chapter is in Derek's POV for a change.

AVERY POV:

"Avery?" Derek calls out

"In the kitchen!" Tommy calls out for us

True to his word, Derek was only gone for an hour. I'm sitting at the bench, my feet swaying back and forth as I watch Tommy cleaning up the kitchen after he made us breakfast.

"Hey beautiful, were you okay whilst I was gone?"

I smile at him, "Yes I was okay"

"Good" he kisses my temple and I blush

Derek grabs a piece of toast off the plate in the middle of the bench and I giggle as he eats nearly the whole thing in one bite, "What have you eaten?" he asks me once he's finished chewing

"I had some eggs, some spinach and I managed a couple mushrooms and I ripped up some toast into little bites"

"Did you take all your vitamins?"

"Yes Tommy made sure I took the right doses"

He kisses my temple again softly, "Good" he turns to Tommy, "Thank you for that, and thank you for staying with her this morning"

"It's all right, any time. Now I need to go catch up on some paper work, I'll catch you guys later"

I say thank you as well as we all say our goodbyes and Tommy see's himself out. Derek wraps his arms around me as I still sit on the stool at the bench, "Hey I was thinking sweetheart, did you want to go for a bit of a run today? I can show you around the pack grounds and you can let your wolf out to have a decent run now that I healed your injuries"

"You want to go for a run? With me? As in outside? Like outside outside, like out the door in the woods outside?" I ask shocked

I know he always says he'll take me to buy clothes and things but I never thought he would let me go anywhere just for the sake of it. And to let me actually be in wolf form? I'm amazed, as is Ava as she howls in agreement and happiness.

He chuckles, "Of course outside, where else would you go for a run?"

"Well I've never um, I've never actually been for a run, I mean unless you count when I ran here"

He quickly releases me and spins my stool around to face him, "Shit I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you or anything, I forgot Tommy told me he had to help you shift because you didn't know how"

"It's okay" I mumble

His arms carefully come around me and he places a kiss on the top of my head, "I promise baby girl, you can shift as much as you like and go on as many runs as you want."

I sniffle into his chest whilst I wrap my arms cautiously around his waist, "Thank you"

He kisses the top of my head again, "Come on now sweetheart, lets go for that run"

"Wait will anyone see us? I mean will there be other pack members? I-I don't know if I'm ready to-"

"Shh it's alright I'm way ahead of you. I told everyone to steer clear of the area we are going to be in. The only people you may see are the wolves on patrol but they know not to make any contact unless it's urgent"
