"Wake up, Lucy."
Something taps my forehead lightly. I ignore it and keep my eyes closed, not wanting to rid myself of such a comfortable sleep.
"Rise and shine, sleepyhead."
Something touches my forehead again, this time with an annoying flick.
I bring my hand up and swat at the disturbance.
"Go away."
The pillow under my head gets pulled out clumsily and my head hits the bed.
My eyes snap open, red and slightly squinting from the newly introduced light.
I glare at the ceiling with half open eyes.
"Now Lucy...don't do what I know you want to do."
My eyes glide over to the side where Natsu stands, hands up in defense. I glare at him for a moment before shutting my eyes again and sighing.
I sit up in the bed slowly, my arms going in front of me to stretch. My shoulders slump down and I stare in front of me.
I take the time to wake up, my hand going to scratch my head and I let out a yawn.
"What time is it?"
Natsu looks down to his wrist, checking with his imaginary clock.
"Well, my stomach has been growling every five minutes...so I'd say about one."
I fall back onto the bed and throw the covers over my face, groaning tiredly.
"You can't tell time with your stomach, Natsu!"
I shuffle in the bed slightly to get comfortable and then tense up.
I throw the covers off of my face and shoot upright in the bed. I look over to the side where Natsu stands.
"Is it really one?"
He nods.
"Yeah."
I bring my hands up to my head and wipe them down my face.
"One? I haven't slept that late in years."
I drag my hands all the way to my hair and hold my head.
"I know sleeping in is absolutely awful, Lucy, but now that you've woken from your death trap we should probably go do something actually fun...work."
Every single word comes out sarcastic and he looks at me like I'm an idiot.
My eyebrows crease into a glare and I stare in front of me with tired eyes.
"Shut up, Natsu."
He shrugs his shoulders and walks over to the other side of the bed. He bends down and picks up my boots, tossing them onto the end of the bed.
"C'mon, Lucy. You need to get to work. How do you expect to do anything if you don't have money?"
I tilt my head to the side to look at him, my arms on both sides of my face. I look at him with a slightly annoyed and astonished look.
"When did you become the serious one?"
He throws my socks onto the bed and flashes a smug smile.
"I am a very mature man."
I get up from the bed, confusion purposefully shown on my face.
"Hmmm. It just doesn't add up. How could the immature, gross, childish, silly-"
I walk across the room, counting everything on my fingers as I speak.
"-hot-headed, impatient, crazy boy that I knew be mature?"
I stop and glance down to my hands where seven fingers are outstretched.
"Hmmph."
I nod my head with a slight smile and hold it up to Natsu with mock seriousness.
"See, Natsu. There's no way you could be the mature one."
He glares at me and mumbles under his breath, mocking me. He leans down and when he rises back up he's got my boots in his hand and he tosses one at me.
My hands go up and I catch it clumsily, it slipping out of my grasp before I drop down a little bit and catch it again.
"Hey-Ow!"
He throws the other one and it hits me stomach. I grab it and point it accusingly at his direction.
"Knock it off! I told you you weren't mature!"
He huffs into a pout and crosses his arms. He starts mumbling under his breath.
"I'm as mature as you are."
I look up from tying the laces on my boot and glare accusingly at him.
"What was that?"
He stops pacing around the room as looks at me with no expression.
"Somebody needs to get you back on your feet."
I press my lips together into a thin line and look down to my feet, tying the other lace.
Once they're tied I stand up and grab my belt off of the table.
"Let's go find a quick job to do."
He perks up and runs over to the door. I follow at a normal pace while clasping my belt around my waist.
He slams the door open and runs out, yelling back to me as he runs to the lobby.
"I'm picking!"
