Kong's POV
I don't know who was getting on my nerves more, Lila or Krit. When exactly had they become such close buddies with P'Arthit? I was barely gone for a week when I instructed them to keep an eye on him, and suddenly they were behaving like he was their best friend.
The four of us were currently in my dorm room, and I am not sure exactly why. Well I know why P'Arthit was here, cause he was practically anywhere I was. But what were Lila and Krit doing in my room all the while completely ignoring me could be anybody's guess. Actually I know what they were doing. Trying to irritate me to death. I am pleasantly surprised that P'Arthit hasn't lost his famous temper and snapped at them to shut up yet, but in this case it would have been completely justified. They were shooting him with non-stop questions barely waiting for him to gasp out an answer.
"P'Arthit did you happen to dream about me yet?"
"Uh...no not yet"
"But you did dream about something?"
"Ye..yeah"
"What did you dream about?"
"Nothing special"
"Was it a fun dream?"
"Ummm...not really"
"Why? Was it scary? Is something big going to happen?"
"Uh...no...no. Nothing like that."
"I bet it was something boring. Most of Jes' dreams are boring too."
"Yeah, yeah it was boring."
"Oh how was your meeting with Jes? He is slightly crazy isn't he?"
"Ummm....I am not sure."
"Don't worry, you will get used to him. It takes everyone a while to understand Jes"
"Except Kong."
"Yeah Kong and Jes are like two peas in a pod. It's really weird cause Jes is so eccentric and Kong is always so serious."
"P'Arthit if you dream about me will you tell me? Jes never tells us anything personal. It's so frustrating. I mean how can telling me how handsome my future boyfriend will be harming anyone. I hope he looks like you. I have always found the brooding mysterious men kind of hot."
Lila had shuffled closer to P'Arthit on the bed and started running her hand up and down his arm as he shifted uncomfortably when I finally reached my limit.
"Ok that's enough both of you. Get out."
"What? Why? I want to stay."
"Yeah we want to talk to P'Arthit. You always get to hang out with him and we never get a chance to have him to ourselves."
"Don't care. Get out."
"Fine, Kong you can stay he and be all grumpy by yourself. P'Arthit do you want to go get dinner with us?"
"P'Arthit isn't going anywhere. I am just kicking the two of you out."
"You don't speak for P'Arthit. He wants to come with us, and you can't stop him"
"Uh...guys, I think I am just going to stay here."
"Huh? Why? You know Kong hates you right?"
P'Arthit met my gaze briefly before he looked down and shifted uncomfortably again. Did Krit really have to remind everyone what my feelings for P'Arthit were? Things had barely begun to stop being awkward between the two of us. P'Arthit actually let out a loud sigh of relief when I finally managed to usher the two of them out and shut the door with a loud bang behind them.
"Are all your friends this intense?"
"Not always. You are a novelty for all us you know. A shiny new toy. You are also going to end up being our new boss so sucking up to you right now isn't really a bad idea."
"Woah woah woah.....hold on there. I am not going to become anybody's boss. I am doing this just to get my headaches to go away and get control of these god damn visions. Being Mr. Oracle is not going to be my full time job."
I shrugged at his vehement denial. It was really between him and Jes. Until Jes was my boss, P'Arthit was nothing more than my mission. Which somehow currently involved spending every waking moment with him. P'Arthit spends less than an hour everyday with Jes. How much training can you manage in barely an hour?
P'Arthit was laying on my bed flipping through a comic book as I started ignoring him to work on my homework. As much as joining engineering was part of the mission, I actually really enjoyed studying. Jes and I agreed that completing my degree in the process was probably a great idea.
I was almost done with my homework when I heard mumbling from behind me and I looked over to see P'Arthit in deep sleep. I think he was having one of his visions again. He was thrashing around and had started sweating profusely. I walked over to him but I wasn't sure if I should try to wake him up or just let him finish his dream. I could see drops of blood dripping from his nose again. I reached out my hand to shake him awake when he suddenly jerked up and grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him. I lost my balance at the sudden movement and stumbled on top of him as he put his arms around me and squeezed me in a tight hug.
I was caught off guard for a split second as to why I was pressed full length against him and was about to violently shove him away when I felt his tears soak the front on my t-shirt where his head was buried against my shoulder. He kept chanting "Thank God....Thank God...Thank God."
I froze as I took in our current situation. I should have probably pushed him away for daring to touch me but it was quite apparent that he had just had a bad vision. I had no way of knowing what it was and I doubt he would tell me, but even I didn't have the heart to deny him the comfort he probably needed right now. I put my arms around him and hugged him back and we laid there silently as his body shook with quiet sobs.
