Liam: You’d heard what he said in their press conference where they made the big announcement. Something about thongs and how he was looking forward to that aspect of their Latin American tour. As soon as he arrived at your place for your date that night, you asked him about it. “It was nothing, Y/N. Just leave it alone.” And then he led you out to his car. “No, Liam. I know we’ve only gone on like two official dates, but I expect you to show me a bit more respect and not to go telling the world that you’re going to be checking out other girls when you’re away on tour.” He spun around, tired of this argument already. “Y/N, you were a bet, alright? The lads bet me that I couldn’t stand to spend a whole month dating you, and you know what? They were right!” He climbed into his car and drove off, leaving you behind in the dust.
Zayn: He grinned at you, showing off the new tattoo. “It’s nice, Zayn.” You rolled your eyes and pulled his shirt down to cover the inked design. Your family was over and you didn’t want them to see it. Yeah, they knew that he had too many tattoos, but they really didn’t need to see this latest one. He left the room a few minutes later and disappeared into your bedroom, his phone pressed to his ear. Your mother asked to see a new outfit you’d been telling her about, so you went to fetch it from your closet and that’s when you heard his speaker-phone conversation with a voice that you didn’t recognize. “You can bet on it.” Zayn was chuckling. “Bet on it like you did for a relationship with Y/N?” The other male laughed. You stepped inside, shutting the door behind you. Zayn let out a swear and then quickly hung up on his friend. “Zayn?” “Y/N, I swear it wasn’t what it sounded like!” You walked over to your closet and pulled out the outfit. “Oh, really, because it sounded like you made a bet and that’s what formed this relationship.” He ran a hand through his hair. “Well, yeah, but it was just that someone bet me that I wouldn’t be able to get you to go out on a date with me when we first met. You were nothing but a bet for the first date, but then I realized what a great girl you were, so I wanted to see you again.”
Louis: The door slammed behind him as he left the bedroom, but you followed him, wanting to finish this fight. He’d come into your house, drunk with a few paparazzi’s trailing after him. You’d shut the door in their face but immediately begun asking your boyfriend questions. “God, Y/N! Stop talking! Your voice is like nails on a chalkboard right now. Why did I ever agree on that bet?” He mumbled and sat down on the couch. You choked on your next words. “What did you just say?” “You’re a bet alright? The boys made a bet with me to see how long it would take for me to get you into bed. And let me just say that you are being extremely tough.” He looked up at you, inebriated eyes trying to focus on your face, but before they got the chance, your hand smacked into the side of his face, sending his sprawling on the couch. “You can stay here tonight, but when I wake up you better be long gone.”
Niall: The weight on his side of the bed shifted and just that slight change caused you to stir and wake up just enough to realize that he was leaving again. The two of you were friends with benefits and this time you’d met up at your place. You sat up when he vanished from the bed. Niall was standing there, pulling on his clothes, averting his eyes from your body when he realized that you were slowly opening your eyes. “Why are you leaving? I wish just once that you would stay the night to at least keep me from freezing after you go.” He finished pulling his shirt on and looked down at your body exposed to him and he licked his lips before saying, “A couple weeks ago, someone bet me that there was no such thing as friends with benefits, no strings attached, that eventually the sex leads to feelings. I told him that he was wrong. He made me bet on it that if I started a relationship of just sex with a girl I’m just friends with that I’ll develop feelings for her. I can’t lose this bet, so I’m leaving.” He swallowed hard, eyes raking along your body once more; he shut his blue eyes tightly, telling himself to leave, to win this bet, to not let his feeling get the best of him. He wanted you so badly. All of you: your mind, body, love, your good and your bad. His eyes opened to see you sitting up now, watching him as well. “Fuck.” he groaned before pulling the shirt back over his head and jerking his pants off again, then he climbed in next to you. “I don’t care about this bet anymore. I like you, Y/N. A hell of a lot.” You giggled and pressed your lips against his. “I like you a lot too, Niall.”
Harry: It was the night before the big event. Harry knocked on your bedroom door, peering around the edge to see you already asleep. He half-sighed half-groaned. He really needed to get this confession off his chest. But the wedding was in fourteen hours and he was leaving in ten minutes to spend the night at Nick’s house. He knew that you kept a notebook and a pen in the drawer next to your bed, so he quietly pulled both out and began to write a quick note.
Y/N, I have something to confess. I know I probably shouldn’t have waited until the night before our wedding, but I didn’t know when else to admit it to you. I’m still not sure how to do it exactly, so here goes. The day that we met, I’d made a bet with someone that I wouldn’t be able to get a single girl in the room to agree to go see a movie with me and then end up trying to get her to sleep with me. You were the one girl that agreed to come back to my place. Since I’m being honest, when I saw you, I thought ‘Oh this’ll be easy.’ But I didn’t really know you yet, Y/N. When we got home and you settled down next to me to watch Lord of the Rings (of all the movies that I could’ve already had in it had to be that one). All I can really remember is you giggling, teasingly complimenting me on my movie choice. Right then I knew that I was going to be losing that bet I’d made because your eyes were glued to the screen and your inner-nerd was coming out. But when I kissed you halfway through the movie because I needed to feel your perfect lips on mine, I began to think that maybe I would be able to win the bet. But you pushed me away, told me no, and as you got up to leave, I realized my mistake and that I didn’t want you to leave because you were the hard-to-get girl that I’d been looking for. My point with this whole story is that you were a bet for the first five weeks of our relationship, you were a bet. That’s why I tried so many times to get you in bed. You had me enraptured, don’t get me wrong, love. Now I think I’ll realize if you decide not to show up in the morning at the church. Who would really want to marry the man that based an entire relationship on a lie of how they really met. But remember one thing, Y/N: I love you more than I’ve ever loved anyone in my whole life. That bet was the best decision in my whole life. The next morning at the Church Harry could tell something was wrong, your bridesmaids were rushing around looking worried and he hadn’t seen any of your immediate family. Eventually he stopped your maid of honor as she flew by. “Where’s Y/N.” The look on her face said it all. You weren’t anywhere they knew of. So he left the church as well, joining the search party for you except that he knew exactly where you would be. Harry and you had always gone to the pond hidden in the copse of trees in the park when you were upset with each other. That’s where he went. You were sitting on the bench, in your wedding dress, staring at the water. “Y/N? Is the wedding off?” You looked up at him eyes sparkling in the sunlight that bounced off the water, “Don’t bet on it, Harry. We both know that you have a tendency to lose those.”
