 BSM, You Miss Your Mum

His POV

Niall:

You’re Age 15:I turned the volume up on the football game and propped my feet up against the small table in front of me, rubbing my eyes and yawning. It had definitely been a long day. (Y/N) had been moody and unpredictable all day; even Harry couldn’t get her to calm down. After we had gotten home from the studio, she stormed into her bedroom and locked the door. Normally, I had no problem having to raise my little sister since our parents had passed away. But I didn’t enjoy when she was a moody teenage girl. As the game turned to commercial’s, I heard her door creak open and I watched as she walked into the living room, “Niall?” “Yeah?” I asked hesitantly, I wasn’t in the mood for another fight. “I’m…I’m sorry,” she said in a cracked voice. “S’allright,” I said, opening my arms and making her come and sit on my lap. “Do you want to at least explain why you were so upset today?” She uncomfortably looked to the side so I tilted her chin to face me and noticed the tears in her eyes. “I dunno, I guess I just missed mummy today.” Immediately feeling like an idiot, I nodded and pushed her head into my chest as tears started pouring from her eyes. “I miss her too, but we’ve still got each other. Just promise me next time you’ll tell me? So I’m not so mean…” I said gently, rubbing her back.

Harry:

You’re Age 4: As the scene in the movie grew quiet, I heard a sniffle from somewhere behind me. Spinning around, I saw (Y/N) standing behind the couch with her blanket and rubbing her eyes. “(Y/N), it’s way past your bedtime missy. What’s going on?” I held open my arms and she stumbled forward, climbing up onto my lap. “I miss mummy!” she cried, putting her head pathetically against my chest. I tried not to laugh and rubbed her back, “But (Y/N), she’ll be home by the time you wake up!” She shook her head and gripped my t-shirt in her tiny fists, “Doesn’t matter!”Cooing, I pushed her firmly into my body and rocked back and forth, “What if I sing you to sleep?” She made a noncommittal noise that I took as a yes, so I readjusted her body on mine and cleared my throat. I didn’t know what else to sing, so I started to sing Little Things. She smiled and closed her eyes, the tears slowing down until she eventually passed out.

Zayn: You’re Age 16: Our dad left the room noisily, shouting over his shoulder, “I’m off to bed, night guys!” I shouted night back but (Y/N) only mumbled it before standing up and going into her bedroom. Feeling that something was wrong, I yawned and stood up, following her. Propping open her door, I saw she was sitting with her back against the bed, looking out the window. Quietly shutting her door, I moved next to her and sat down, looking to the side to see her face. She didn’t acknowledge I had walked in and stayed silent. “What’s wrong kiddo?” I asked softly, fingering a strand of her hair. “I just miss mum I suppose,” she said listlessly, staring at the rain falling down. Making a knowing noise, I felt my heart break a little; I think I would’ve felt better if she was breaking down, but just watching her stare out the window like she didn’t want to exist anymore, that was rough. I put an arm around her and kissed the top of her head, “I miss her too, but we’re going to get through this. Okay?” She didn’t make any gesture that showed she heard me but I knew she did. I pulled her closer against my chest and sang until she fell asleep, her head on my lap.

Louis: You’re Age 12: I peeked around the door into her hotel room and was dismayed to see her hunched over, her face buried in her arms. She’d decided to come on tour with me for a month out of her summer holiday when I had offered it and I couldn’t be happier. But it was week two and I could tell she was missing our mum. I moved into the room slowly, “(Y/N)?” “Go away Louis,” she said weakly, turning to face the wall. I crawled onto the bed next to her and put my arms around her, pulling her back into me. “Being mean to me isn’t really going to help,” I pointed out. She made a noise I couldn’t really distinguish but didn’t look at me. I pulled out my mobile and opened my mum’s contact, “Why don’t we call mum and talk to her for a bit, yeah?” She nodded and took the phone from my hand. Before calling, she leaned over and kissed my cheek, “Sorry.” “Hey, don’t be sorry, I miss her too,” I smiled, helping her sit in between my legs as we leaned into the pillows and called.

Liam: You’re Age 10: She came over to me and gestured for me to lean down. As I did, she whispered into my ear, “I miss mum Liam.” Straightening back up, I looked at her sadly and then looked at the rest of the boys before muttering, “I miss her too.” “You two all right?” Niall called over. We both nodded and I lifted her up onto my hip, “Listen guys, I think we’re gonna head home early. Tell management (Y/N) was feeling a little sick.” They all looked at us like they knew what was going on and nodded slowly. Back at our flat, I carried her over to the couch before turning on the TV and getting some food, “How about we just sleep here tonight, together?” She nodded softly and leaned against me, nuzzling her face up under my arm. Pulling her tightly against me, I tried to keep my composure and kissed the top of her head, “I’m glad I still have you.” “I love you Liam.” “I love you too baby.”
