Part 10. "It's all my fault."

**EXTREME TRIGGER WARNING**

"Woah, woah, woah! Yuri! What the hell do you think you're doing with that thing?!"

Yuri sighed. "I made it worse. I'm sorry, Natsie. It's all my fault."

With that, she plunged the knife into her left shoulder. The blood trickled downwards, And she stabbed at it again, and again, and again.

Natsuki was horrified, she didn't know what to do, Yuri seemed to be losing a lot of blood already. "DAMMIT BABE!! YOU'RE SCARING ME! STOP IT! YOU'LL DIE IF YOU LOSE TOO MUCH BLOOD!!!!"

Yuri grunted And looked over at her. "I-I deserve it. Every mi-minute of it." And then stabbed herself again with blood gushing out from the open wound.

Natsuki reached for her phone. "I-I'll call an ambulance!"

"NO! DON'T DO THAT, NATSIE! LEAVE ME HERE! AFTER WHAT I'VE DONE TO YOU!"

Natsuki began to dial the number. "I DON'T CARE! YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG! THIS ISN'T ABOUT ME ANYMORE, BABE! I'M TRYING TO SAVE YOU!!!"

With the knife now slashed across Yuri's torso, she fell to the floor and groaned. "W-why... I've always m-messed up your life. You used t-to h-ha-hate me..."

"But now I love you, more than anything, so let me help you survive."

Natsuki dialed the number, waiting for someone to pick up.

"9-1-1, what's the subject of your emergency?"

"Uhhhh, my friend has stabbed herself with a knife several times, and I need someone here to help her, in, I don't know, NOW!!!!!!!!!!"

"Alright, Alright, Miss. we'll be right there. Where are you?"

"WESTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL!!!! NOW GET THOSE FUCKERS OVER HERE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!" Then she hung up.

She crouched down to Yuri's level. "You'll be okay, babe. The ambulance is on it's way now. Just stay with me ok?"

Yuri looked up at her. "I'll try. But I should be dying, I should already be dead."

"No, babe. You mean the world to me. I'm sorry for always being an asshole to you in the past; I guess I didn't know better."

"It's ok. Sometimes I wonder how we got like this. Together, but now, now I'm dying."

Natsuki held her tightly. "NO! NO YOU'RE NOT!!!!!!!" 

In ten short minutes, the ambulance arrived. Yuri was still alive, but was light headed, and her eyes seemed cloudy from the blood she lost. They put her on a stretcher, and took her in. Natsuki got in the vehicle too, so she'd be close to Yuri.

"You'll be ok, Yuri. We're going to the hospital now."

They went through the emergency entrance, racing Yuri to the nearest room available. They took some of Yuri's bloody clothes off, and examined the cuts and stabs.

Natsuki waited outside the room to hear a word from the doctor, or a nurse, anyone.

A doctor came out from Yuri's room. "Miss, may I have a word with you?"

Natsuki got up, she knew he was talking to her. "Is she going to be okay?"

"Barely. We got her here just in time, any later and she'd be dead. Good news is that we can treat her, and get her back to health and good as new."

"But what's the bad news?"

"Well, it's gonna take us overnight to do so. We'd have to stitch her up, give her blood, and so on. You're welcome to stay overnight with her. You can take her clothes to the nearest laundromat around, there's one that's close. Since you didn't drive a car up here, I'll have one of the nurses take you."

"You can do that? What if that nurse is needed?"

"I'll have plenty of backup while you're gone, but I'll go get the clothes for you."

He went back in, and out again in a flash. "Here you are," a young lady followed him out. "Akari will drive you up there."

"Thank you, Doctor. I hope things go smoothly with Yuri."

She went out the doors with the nurse. It really was a short drive up to the laundromat."

"Here," the nurse gave her a quarter. "This should be enough."

"Thank you, Miss." Natsuki went inside. She put the clothes in. And started to wash them in the washer. Luckily, once they were done, the place also had dryers, so she dried the clothes too. She swiftly scurried out the door and back into the car, where it would be a short drive back.

Natsuki sat outside the room again, with Yuri's school clothes in her lap. She was worried about her girlfriend. Was she okay? Was she even still alive in there?

The doctor returned outside. "Hello there, just thought I'd give you an update." 

"Is she okay?!"

"Just fine. Her heart rate is at normal range and she's sleeping like a baby while we work on her. We've got that slash across her torso all fixed, but we'll need most of the time to work with the shoulder. She's lucky it didn't really interfere with her collarbone."

"I guess that's good news. Will you let me know when I can go in to see her?"

"Sure, but she'll probably be sleeping hard, so she won't see you until tomorrow morning."

"Okay then; is the blood situation okay?"

"Yes mam! We've got her fixed up with that."

"Would you mind if I made a phone call?"

"Not at all."

Natsuki called the school office, explaining that Yuri won't be at school the next day, neither would she. She felt as if she were really an adult now.

Hours passed, Natsuki waited,

And waited,

And waited,

And waited.

She waited for another word from the doctor, which finally happened around 10:30 pm.

"Hey there! All done for tonight!"

"Everything's finished?"

"You bet! We will keep her for some time tomorrow. Just to see how she does."

"Sounds good, but what will it cost us?"

"Not a thing! Emergencies are not about money."

Natsuki was relieved. "That's a good philosophy to have. Can I go in?"

"Sure! She's still sleeping, but go ahead and keep her company."

As soon as all the nurses left, Natsuki did as told. She saw Yuri sleeping peacefully in the bed, not a thing seems wrong anymore. She defiantly looked better than before.

Natsuki sat by her in a cushioned chair, and held her hand.

"I promise Yuri. I promise never to fight again. I promise to never hurt you again. I promise, babe. I promise."

Before she knew it, she was beginning to feel sleepy, so she slouched in her chair, falling asleep while still holding her beloved girlfriend's hand.

"I promise."
