"So I heard you and Calum were talking a bit?" Marcie asked, running up beside me at the field.
We started practice ten minutes ago and we were still missing two girls. Normally I was fine with it being that highschool girls normally take long but today I wanted to start as quickly as possible.
"You heard? From who?" I turned to face her, my eye brows rising. You talk to one person and it gets passed around school?
"Well I actually didn't hear it. Would it be creepy if I told you that Jordan and I were watching the monitor in the office that had the camera on you two?"
"Yes, very." I replied while taking the balls out of the blue bag, lining them up.
"Call me a predator then because we saw you two! You were actually having a conversation with Calum Hood and not trying to punch him. Congrats Ri." She patted my back as I rolled my eyes.
With the girls on the team, everything came back down to Calum, and it was starting to get annoying. Along with that, Marcie acted as if I was raised in the wild and only fought with people.
That wasn't the truth though, I fought with people who were annoying and arrogant. The definition of Calum.
Just then Jordan ran up with the rest of the soccer team, Natalie and Piper running at the front. "Where have you two been? Practice started almost fifteen minutes ago! We have champs to prepare for!"
"Riley, you need to hear this." Jordan huffed from behind them.
I sent her around school to find them and I'm guessing she ran far due to her heavy breathing.
"The boys, as you know, have made it to championship like us. The game is in New York and costs a fortune to ship us all there. The school only has enough money in the budget to send one team there."
I was slowly connecting the pieces together. Only one team could go to New York. Both teams have worked so hard to make it to this position; both being ranked number one. They couldn't just tell one team to stay home while the other gets to play in the biggest game in the state.
"Calum is already on his way to the office to tell principle Reckman that the boys will offer to go."
Once the words left Piper's mouth my head shot up and I took off running in the direction of the office. I could hear the girls footsteps behind me but I drowned them out. I didn't work the team this hard not to make it to states.
If Calum thought the boys were going in place of us, he has another thing coming.
