Rey's P.O.V.

"Rey! Wake up!"

I slowly open my eyes to somebody rocking me back in forth. That someone is Finn. Not surprising. "What???" I ask in a grumpy tone.

"Time to go."

"Fine."

I stretch out my arms and yawn. I get up brushing the sand off my robe that I slept in.

"Don't you think you should change?"

"Okay, I get it. I stink. All I have is my old robe, from Jakku. I'll change when we get to the base. I'll take a bath and everything."

"Good."

I walk pass him and stop. "I could say the same for you." He gives me a weird look and sniffs his jacket. He widens his eyes at the smell. I guess I'm not the only one who smells. Finn and I meet with the others. We pack all our food and supplies. We decide to leave the tents where they are because there's no point in taking them with us. We leave the site and start heading towards the base. I hope there's no stormtroopers or anybody from the First Order. That could be a problem.

A couple hours later, we're at the base. There looks to be no stormtroopers or anybody for that matter. In the distance, we stand in front of the huge door that I opened once before.

"Now how are we gonna get that thing open?" Finn says in annoyance shrugging.

I stare at him with one eyebrow raised. He looks at Poe and Rose for ideas but then he looks at me. "What are you looking at?" He asks me. I now raise both of my eyebrows. He looks at the door then back at me. "Oh." He says in embarrassment. I roll my eyes and walk in front of them. I plant my feet strongly in the sand, ready to open this door for the second time. I reach my right arm out towards the door. I close my eyes and focus on opening the door. It doesn't budge. I try harder and harder until my knees start shaking. I fall to the floor. I open my eyes. "I... I don't know what's wrong."

Poe comes over and puts his hands on my shoulders. "It's okay, Rey. We can take the back way in." I nod and he helps me up. Ten minutes later we're at the back entrance where I helped them escape before. Now I'm breaking them in.

"The rocks are back where they were." Finn says.

"I might not be able to lift a door, but I know I can lift these."

I reach out my hand again and the rocks start to float in the air. Finn, Poe and the others go inside. I follow them while putting the rocks back behind me.

"I'm glad you can do that at least." Finn says when we get inside to the main center. I roll my eyes and look around. No one's here. It hasn't changed much since he captured me or I let myself get captured. "Okay, I'm going to go take a bath or try to find one at least."

"Okay, me too."

"Yeah."

"What are you trying to say?"

"Hmm? Oh, nothing." I say walking away trying not to laugh.

After walking around the base for a bit, I finally find a room with a shower in it. There's some black clothing still in there. Probably one of the stormtroopers. Ew. I take my clothes off and turn the water on. I put my hand under the facet to make sure the water's comfortable. When it is, I step into the shower. The warm water against my skin feels so nice. I've been tense ever since my fight with Kylo, so it feels good to relax. I close my eyes and take a deep breath. What was he thinking? What did he let go? Why didn't I know when I was right there. He was in front of me and I couldn't see it. I couldn't see that he still hadn't changed. He obviously wants to now, but it's too late. I wish it wasn't.

I get out of the shower and put a towel around me. There's a room connected to the bathroom, which I'll stay in. I walk into my room. I grab my bag that I put in here before I took a shower. I take out my clothes from Jakku. I haven't worn them in a while but they're all I have so they'll have to do. I put them on and the arm wraps of course. To go with the theme, I put my hair in three buns. It feels new but old at the same time. I look at myself in a mirror in the corner of the room. This is weird. It's like looking at myself from a year ago, still a scavenger. And a girl who didn't know who her parents were. It's still hard to process what happened to my parents. I've been denying it my whole life, until Ben made me realize that my family is gone and in the past. But my real family is in the future. I guess I owe him for that.

I catch a glimpse of my lightsaber on the dresser, then I realize why I couldn't open that door. I didn't have the diamond in my lightsaber. The diamond makes me stronger.

"Did you seriously copy my lightsaber?" I jump at the voice behind me and a flood of emotions wash over me. I turn around. "Luke?"

"Rey?"

"You're a..."

"Ghost. Yes. Well a force ghost. We come back in times of struggle where our friends or family need us."

"And I need you right now because?"

"Um. Do you know the situation you're in right now? The Resistance is literally gone and you're only chance at defeating the First Order is gone too."

"Yeah..."

"But I'm not here for that."

I roll my eyes. "Then why are you here?"

"My nephew, or if you prefer, your boyfriend."

"He is not my boyfr-"

"Yeah, yeah. Anyways, I need to explain something to you, Rey."

"And what's that?"

"Don't give up on him."

"What? But he-"

"Yes, I know what he did. I used to think that you and Ben together was a bad idea, but now I think it's the best thing for him and you. Kylo Ren is just a shell around the same broken boy we tried so hard to reach."

I stand there thinking about what he said for a minute. "You're right. We tried, and we failed. It's too late. He's done too much."

"That's what I thought about my father and he did so much worse than Ben. My father wanted the girl until he wanted the power. Ben wanted the power until he met the girl, you."

"I know, but I've already decided. He had multiple chances to come back. How many did Vader have? Two? I gave Ben way more than that."

"Yes, but Darth Vader was old. He realized what he did after all that time. Ben realizes it now. That's why you need to go to him, before it is really too late."

"I'm sorry, Luke, but it already is." I look away from him and I feel him fade away. I wish I could agree with Luke. But I can't. I've made up my mind and there's no changing it.
