Rey's P.O.V.
I got Ben back. I finally got him back and a shot that didn't even kill me is all I got? I can't believe it. I'm the happiest I've ever been in my life. Me out of all people, a scavenger from Jakku, got the cruelest man to turn. I don't care about the credit, all I care about is him. I always will. After my parents left, I never believed in love. He changed that. At the beginning, I hated him, now look where we're at. Now I realize it wasn't my parents I was waiting for, it was him.
My eyes flutter open and the first thing I see is Ben sitting across from me on the bed with his legs stretched out next to me with his feet up against the wall by my head. He's sleeping. Our hands are intertwined. I stare at him and smile gently. This is the most peaceful I've ever seen him. The bed is small. I feel like I'm in a box. My feet touch the other side of the cubicle. The room is plain. All the walls are white and barely any furniture. Just a dresser and a desk. I try to move slightly, but a shooting pain runs through my torso. I sigh in annoyance. Ben's eyes start to open slowly. "Rey."
"Hmm?"
"Don't try to move."
I roll my eyes. "This is stupid."
"It is, but you need to heal as soon as possible. We'll be at the base in a little over an hour."
"Ugh."
He smiles gently. "I'll leave so you can get more rest,-" he says as he starts get up from the bed.
"-No! Stay. Please?"
He nods and lays next to me. I move my head on top of his chest and automatically feel content. He takes his hand and runs his fingers through my hair. My eyes become heavy and I fall back to sleep.
When I wake up I don't feel the warmth of his body anymore. My eyes open wondering where he is. The first person I see is Finn. "Rey!" He says relieved.
I smile at him. "Finn."
I look around. I'm in the room that I stayed in when I was on Pillio. Finn, Poe and Rose are standing around me. I don't see Ben until Poe moves and I see him leaning against the wall with his arm crossed, behind them. "Ben."
He stops leaning against the wall and puts his arms at his sides. "Come here." I say.
He starts to walk hesitantly. The others glare at him as he walks over. "Yeah?" He asks.
"Sit." I say as I pat the spot on the bed next to me. He sits down next to me. "So how long was I out?"
"It's only been a few hours since you guys got here." Poe says.
"Where's Audrey?" I ask Ben.
"She has to fix the Millennium. She said it would take a while."
"Audrey? Who's Audrey?" Poe asks getting more intrigued.
"Don't worry, she's a friend." I say.
"Oh."
"She should be back soon though." Ben says looking at me.
I nod. I look at Finn. He looks like he's about to kill Ben. "Finn, what's wrong?"
He looks at me shocked and confused. "What's wrong? What's wrong is that you could have gotten killed all because of this guy." He looks at Ben. "This is all your fault!"
Ben stands up straight and holds his ground. "Well, maybe if you guys came with her, she wouldn't be like this right now!"
"Well, maybe if you didn't-"
The door swings open and Audrey stands at the door. "Sorry, am I interrupting? I was just taking a break, wanting some food."
"No. Actually, they were about to leave." I look at Finn. He glares at me but leaves the room. The others are more hesitant. Rose slightly smiles at me to apologize for Finn. I smile back and she leaves the room. Audrey's about to leave the room but then her and Poe lock eyes. In that moment I know something's gonna happen between them. It seems like forever until they come back to reality and leave the room, leaving me Ben and I alone.
"That went well." Ben says.
"They'll come around. One day. Hopefully. What happened when I was sleeping anyways?"
"Well, I carried you in. They almost killed me but they saw you in my arms before they did. So they took me in here and I laid you down on the bed and I haven't left your side since we got here. It was really awkward, specially after what I've done to them. They were shocked to see me at first, but they calmed down a bit afterwards. At least I thought they did."
"You've changed. They'll see that eventually."
"For our sake, I hope they do."
We sit there in silence. "What are we gonna do now?" He asks.
"What do you mean?"
"The First Order and the Resistance are gone."
"I haven't thought of that. I know we need to relax. My shoulder needs to heal first and then we'll figure it out from there."
He nods and puts his forehead against mine. He closes his eyes and I close mine. "This is the way it supposed to be." I say. We separate and I look at him. "I should have gone with you."
"No, you shouldn't have. Then the First Order would still exist. Hux would still be alive. Who knows what he would have done. He would have killed everybody you loved. He would have killed you. He would have done worse than me."
I nod and hug him. I put my head on his shoulder. "I'm just so glad it's over."
There's a moment of silence but Ben breaks it. "Rey, I know why our lightsabers were purple."
"Yeah, it was our first time using them together at the same time."
"There's another reason. Balance."
"What?"
"Purple. Red and blue together make purple. It makes balance. Rey, we're the balance."
A big smile appears on my face. "Then I guess the force planned for this a long time ago." I lean in closer, but the door opens and Poe walks in. His face becomes pale. "Poe, what's wrong?"
"It's Leia... She's dying."
