"So that was actually THE God of War, Ares?" I asked Kevin. He nodded slowly.
"Or, should he be more explained as the God Of Blood thirst. Let me decipher that more for you. He likes slaughter, and that means we've got trouble on our hands."
Chapter Ten
----------------
"Are you freaking serious!!!" I yelled. The hallways stopped talking and stared at me. I glared back. I was so not in the mood to feel embarrased. I spoke again but this time lowered my voice.
"No, I'm not," Kevin replied. "And talk quietly," he said pulling me along.
"You think Aphrodite asked Ares to come her to kill me?" I asked. That's when the full force of it hit me. That girl really wanted me dead. Really. A lot. And there was no stopping her. She even had one of the strongest gods on her side.
"Don't worry now, okay," he told me as we walked into the homeroom which we luckily had together.
"How can I not worry," I hissed."When I know I'm on the way to the afterlife. Oh wait, do you think Hades and Persephone are going to want a piece of me too?" I asked. He chuckled. I glared at him. "That's not funny, I was serious."
"I told you not to worry. Have you forgotten about me? I'm a god too, and I'll be protecting you."
"But that's still two against one," I complained. He sighed.
"I have other gods and goddesses friends to you know."
"But he's the God of War!" I said addressing Ares.
"I'm not weak," he snapped. I flinched, but he didn't notice. Hm, maybe he was The God of Hate. Cause I was starting to hate him for this. "Anyways, I'm not just The God of Hate."
"Oh yeah? What are you then mister." Kevin smirked then gave me a crooked smile.
"I'm The God of Hate and Torture."
-&-
That sounded pretty evil to me, I thought as he and I walked to the lunch room. He was also the God of....... Torture? What kind of world was this. What kind of God was he. And why was I trusting him so easily. For anything I knew, Kevin could be playing me as much as Aphrodite was.
"Yoohoo! Fallon! Kevin! Over here!" Ashley yelled and patted the seats beside her. I nodded to her as we made our way to the seats. "Have you seen the new guy yet?" she interrogated me.
"You mean Ares?" I asked. She nodded. "Yeah we've met," I told her. Not that I had wanted to meet him.
"You have? Please introduce me. It's like the new guys here keep getter hotter and hotter....." Ashley started to blush a deep red when she noticed that Kevin had been listening to the conversation. "Never mind," she whispered and quickly turned away. I snickered lightly and Kevin had an all out smile on his face.
"Fall, you don't mind if Ares and I sit here, do you?" a voice drawled out. Before I turned around, I already knew who it was.
"I don't know Aphro- Lovette," I corrected myself. "You sure you won't mind?" You sure I won't mind, I thought. She shook her head with a sweet smile on her face.
"Of course not silly. Ares and I really want to sit here." Ares nodded in agreement. Aphrodite and Ares took the small space across from us.
"Hey Lovette!" Lucy said as she took one of the last empty seats at the table. I opened my water bottle and took a large sip. "You know whay I noticed. You look a lot like the Goddess Aphrodite."
"Do I?" Aphrodite asked innocently. I choked on my water and quickly swallowed. Kevin patted my back.
"Sorry," I muttered to all the stares I was receiving. "Just choked."
"Anyway," Lucy said giving me a, sorry about the choke look, " Yeah you do. I mean you have the blond hair for it and your really pretty, like a goddess. Aphrodite was just the first thing that popped into my head."
"Well, thank you," Aphrodite replied. "Your comment means a lot to me. To think that I'm a goddess? Your so nice Lucy." Lucy smiled shyly and nodded.
"So, what do you think of Aphrodite?" I asked her. She opened her mouth to speak but I interrupted. "Because I think she's a jealous girl out to kill innocent humans for her own selfish reasons. Not that my opinion matters." Aphrodite clamped her mouth shut and her lips adjusted into a straight line. Kevin gave me the, what do you think your doing, look. I shrugged.
"They do portray her that way," Lucy said. "But I think Aphrodite is just a nice beautiful strong goddess." Aphrodite smiled.
"I totally agree," she replied. Then glared at me. "She wouldn't harm, anybody. But, maybe that's a myth too."
