Snarling came from in front of me. Weakly, I glanced up and spotted Ceberus before me. It's teeth were bared as it stared at me. Looking at me like I was a sign that said, "Fresh Live Meat - 50% off!" I closed my eyes tightly, waiting for death to come. I just wish it was quick. A long death would be... painful.
My eyes were competely shut when I hear a roar, and then something whizzing through the air. I pulled open my eyes slightly and saw something moving quickly through the air, though I was too disoriented to make anything out.
I started to black out when I heard a thud on the ground. Suddenly, I was picked up in the air by strong arms, Barely concious, I stared back at my savior, only to say, "Who... are you?"
Chapter Ninetten - Fallon
-------------------------
I wan't quite sure where I was. After the attack, I had mostly blanked out, and I could only remeber bits and pieces of what happened. There were dogs, broken chairs, and... a girl.
Slowly, I tried to sit up, but a racking pain slid up my neck to my head. With a gasp, I crumpled back onto the bed, I had quickly realized I was laying on.
Suddenly, I felt a prescense to the side of me, someone I didn't recognize.
"Ugh, the bandage wrapping came off again," a girl said with a sigh. I frowned, not recognizing the voice at all. The girl then followed through to lean foward, and when I saw her face, I noticed she was scowling. "Oh, your awake... can you fix it yourself?"
This girl was strange indeed. She had grey eyes and dark brown hair that flowed around her shoulders. She was wearing a lengthy whitie dress as she stared at me.
"Who.. are you?" I asked my voice cracking. She gave me a look that looked like shew as rolling her eyes.
"I told you that already hunny when I saved you."
"Saved me?" She held up a hand.
"Wait a moment, one question at a time." When I closed my mouth, she continued. "I saved you, when you were attacked by Ceberus at a, what is it you humans call it? A mall? Anyways, at that big techy place. And my name is Athena." My eyes widened, but I quickly shut them. It hurt to do that.
"Your Athena? The, Athena?" She nodded.
"Is there any other?" She asked. I would have shrugged, but I couldn't.
"Why did you save me?" She frowned.
"Well, it isn't my business to meddle with humans, but I was personally asked by someone to watch over you. Lucky your little human guts that I got there on time." Human guts? Who says human guts?
"Oh, um thanks." She nodded.
"Yes, you better be."
"By any chance, could you tell me who had asked you to watch over me?"
"I don't care, he didn't give me an order to not tell you." He?" It was Revink. I froze, and then suddenly, I felt a slight blush rise onto my cheeks.
"Kevin?" She frowned.
"Kevin?" she asked back. I smiled.
"Um, nevermind. Thanks for saving me." Athena shook her dark brown hair covered head.
"No need for thanks. I would say it's my job, but it really isn't. It's more of a burden. Now go to sleep, you need those pains to heal before you can walk again.."
But I wasn't listening anymore. I was already weakly falling asleep, with the peaceful thought of knowing that Kevin was trying to watch over me.
