Chapter Nine

-------------------

"So, I still have to call her Lovette?" I asked as Kevin and I walked towards teh school. He rolled his eyes at me and frowned.

"Of course you have too. Why would you all of a sudden call her something else, especially the name of a goddess. People would find it strange." I shrugged.

"Don't blame me if I get mixed up."

"You already are mixed up. Mixed up in this stupid mess of goddess and goddesses. Most people can live their whole life without meeting one of us. But I guess it's us to blame."

"Most people?" I asked. He glanced at me.

"Fallon, you don't think you' re the only one who gets to meet a god in their life?" he asked me. I shook my head.

"No," I replied. "And call me Fall please. Fallon sounds so weird."

"You probably are one of the only people to meet one of us, and probably one of the very few many that know of us." Before we entered the school he turned to me and added,"And it's not weird. It's your name. It's beautiful, and perfectly sounds just good on you." I quickly glanced away and blushed.

"There you are Fall!" Lucy said as she found me walking towards her in the hallway. "I've been looking for you. At first I thought you were late cause you usually get here before the first bell-" she stopped as she saw who was standing beside me. "Oh, hey Kevin," she said shyly. He smiled at her. "So where's Lovette?"

"You mean Aphro-" I was about to correct her before correcting myself. Kevin gave me a sideways glare and I shrugged and mouth, 'told you I might mess up'.

"Don't know," he replied. "I guess well see her sometime later during the day... oh there she is." I quickly braced myself and turned to see how she would react to seeing me. Apparently, I was the one who reacted more.

There Aphrodite stood at the tip of the hallway, by the intersection that led to other hallways. Everyone was suddenly quiet as they stared at her, or rather, the new hot stranger who was arm was linked through her own. He had really red hair which would have looked about strange on anyone else but had somehow made it work. He was really tall and had broad shoulders and his muscles showed from under the tight black t-shirt he wore.

"Damn," Kevin cursed under his breath. For what reason, I didn't know why. Maybe because his sister had already hooked up with someone practically on her third day here. She clearly worked fast. But it was weird, cause I had never seen this person at our school or ever in my life. Aphrodite was clearly seeking me out, and when she spotted me, she quickly made her way over. Aphrodite smiled sweetly as she approached. But her boyfriend was doing the exact opposite. He was frowning at me. I immediately tensed at his greeting.

"Hello Fall, Lucy, and Kevin," Aphrodite responded to our stares. Kevin was glaring at the guy next to his sister not bothering about his obviousness. Aw, brotherly love.

"Hi Lovette!" Lucy replied not noticing the tension at all. I didn't respond. "Who's that?" Lucy said gesturing towards the guy on her arm.

"Oh him?" Aphrodite asked if she had suddenly forgotten about the god like guy on her arms. "Oh, that's just my boyfriend, Ares." My jaw dropped. Okay, so I wasn't wrong about saying he was god like. I quickly scanned him over and took a step back knowing now how much of a threat he was. Kevin's jaw was clenched.

"Like the god Ares!" Lucy squealed excitingly! "That's so cool."

"Yeah," I muttered, "Like the god."

"Anyways, just wanted to introduce you to him," Aphrodite said and turned to leave. "Bye guys."

"Bye!" Lucy said. I gave a tiny tiny smile as goodbye. "I have to go to class too. See you at lunch Fall." I nodded and watched her leave.

"So that was actually THE God of War, Ares?" I asked Kevin. He nodded slowly.

"Or, should he be more explained as the God Of Blood thirst. Let me decipher that more for you. He likes slaughter, and that means we've got trouble on our hands."
