"Well," Aphrodite said slowly, "I figure I can make Revink fall back in love with you." My eyes suddenly lit up and a huge smile was smacked onto my face.
"You can! Oh that's so great-"
"Only if," she said cutting me off," If you do something for me." I nodded.
"Anything. I'll do anything. What is it?" Aphrodite smiled at me.
"Even though love is my forte, I'm going to need a bit of help. And when I say help, I mean a partner in crime to making Fall "fall" in love, or just make it look like it, with Ares."
Chapter Sixteen
---------------
"HEY!... Oh, um... hi?" I said, but it came out more as a question. Books in my hand, I had been walking to class with Ashley, when suddenly some person snatched them out of my arms. Make that, some god.
"Hi Ares," Ashley squeaked, her cheeks turning red beside me. Biting my lip, I shook my head to myself. She didn't know how to hide her feelings did she.
"Hello... Ashley. Is that correct?" She nodded her head excitingly. I could just hear what was going on inside her head. 'He knows my name. He knows my name! HE KNOWS MY NAME!!!!!!'
"Hi Ares. Can I have my book backs now," I snapped. He actually flinched, but quickly composed himself (I made a god flinch. I made a god flinch! I MADE A GOD FLINCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) (Author's Note : Sorry, that was so random, just felt like putting that.)
"No, how about I walk you to class?" Ares asked. I shook my head.
"How about you give me my books back so I can get to class on time and not have to kick your butt?" He smiled. Ashley sighed beside me and I rolled my eyes. Could she be any more obvious.
"Playing hard to get huh? I like girls like that."
"I CAN PLAY HARD TO GET!" Ashley exclaimed. Okay, maybe she could be more obvious. She quickly covered her mouth as she realized what she had said as everyone in the hallway stared at her. Abruptly, everyone began laughing. And then the laughing stopped. Like, instantly.
"I think you should leave Ares. I can walk them to class," a low voice said. I turned around and found Kevin standing behind us. Or more above us. He was so tall he even towered over Ares. Wow.
"No, I can help-"
"Dude, just back off!" a random guy in the hallway yelled. Huh? Suddenly, almost everyone but me were suddenly angry and yelling.
"Leave them alone!"
"Kevin said he could walk them. Leave!"
"I hate you. Leave them alone!"
My eyes widened. Huh? What in the world was going on?!?!?!?!
Ares looked agitated as yells and insults were thrown at him.
"Whatever," he growled, and began to walk away, giving Kevin a long dark glare. When he was gone, Kevin turned to us. Something in the air, like tension I guess, seemed to lift from the air, and everybody began to talk and act normally as they did before, as if nothing even had happened.
"Where's Ashley?" I asked, suddenly noticing her disappearance.
"Transported her to class," Kevin said shrugging. I raised my eyebrows.
