Chapter 4
*Before everything*
Malachi POV
I was at home waiting for Betty to arrive, it was a cold night, a perfect time for me to relax with my beautiful girlfriend.
We had been dating for about 5 years now. We met at her favorite place, Pop's. She was sitting down at a booth reading and drinking a vanilla milkshake. I couldn't take my eyes off of her. I look around the place and see there are no places to sit, so I go up to the pretty blonde and ask to sit, with her beautiful and calming voice she reply's with " sure, I'm Betty " and a beautiful smile.
I was a goner. We ended up talking for hours, as we were leaving I gave her my number and told her to use it, to my surprise she did. We went on many romantic dates watching the sunset or walks along the beach, i instantly fell in love.
That brings us to now.
Betty was suppose to be at my place 10 minuets ago. I begin to pace around my apparent getting worried. Is she ok? Is she hurt? Is she dumping me? Is she cheat- my thoughts were interrupted by someone knocking on the door. I rush over to see her, looking stunning as always. She walks in looking angry. I sit her down " what's wrong babe? " I ask in a calming voice. " oh nothing, apart from I go to visit my best friend and see he has a black eye! Care to explain, and don't lie to me ". Shit! " he was hitting on you in front of my yesterday night the hole time, I wasn't going to let him get away with it! " I say. " So let me get this straight, you beat him up because he was flirting with me? " she asks sounding angrier then before. " Yes " I said. " I'm so sorry, I should have realised, how was I so dumb to think Jason, my GAY best friend was hitting one me " she says yelling at me. Fuck. I messed up again. "Babe , I am so sorry" I tell her. "Malachi, I have given you so many chances. I forgave you after you punched Todd, my ex. I forgave you after you got all the Ghoulies to punch any guy that looked at me. I forgave you when you pulled out a gun on Archie because he was just bringing me some food home after I wasn't feeling well. I have forgave you so many times, but you never learn. I'm sorry, I can't keep doing this. We have to break up " she said with tears streaming down her face. " Betty, please. I'm so sorry. I know I always step over the line. I don't mean to. I love you "I say, my eyes begging to get glossy.
"I can't risk you hurting the people I care about anymore. I loved you so much, you just never took the time to see how I was. You only cared that I was yours. " she says looking down at her shoes, disappointment flooding through her words. " I'm so sorry, your right, I was a terrible boyfriend and I don't blame you for breaking up with me ".  I say sitting down on the couch. She surprisingly sat down next to me holding my hand. "I will always care about you" she says rubbing my hand " I will always care about you Betty, I will always protect you and that's a promise". She lighting smiles as I'm talking "can we please stay friends, I promise I won't be like my old self " I say to her. " I don't want to change you Mali " she says looking down. " you won't, just please, you mean everything to me. Your friendship at least would make me the happiest person alive " I said. " if you promise me not to punch every guy I happen to speak to " she said, breaking my heart, knowing that she will get another boyfriend soon because she is smart, gorgeous, strong and so much more. Anyone who got to date her was a lucky man. " I promise " I say. We both stand up and she gives me a hug and walks out.
I have never felt more lonely. If only i treated her right. If only I listened to her. If only I loved her the way she showed me she loved me.

In the middle of my self pitying I got a call. Jughead. Great. I answered it and he was threatening to hurt Betty, the one person in my life who wasn't scared of me, the only person who actually cared about me and the only person who could calm me down. Of course he chose to threaten her, I sigh to myself, all I do is put her in danger.
I hang up on him and call her.
*Malachi calls Betty*
Malachi: Hey Betts. Please tell me your safe.
Betty: of course I am, why what's up?
Malachi: oh. Uh... it's nothing, just making sure your ok.
Betty: Mali I saw you half an hour ago, you don't need to worry about me. She says with a slight chuckle.
Malachi: just promise me you will be safe. Ok.
Betty: I promise. Bye Mali.
I pray that she will be safe

N/A damn this is a long ass chapter.
Many of you might be shook that I made them together but I never saw it in a fan fiction before and I just thought why not 😂
And I am terrible at spelling so if there are any mistakes sorry 😂❤️
