Chapter 12:
Malachi POV:
It's been 2 weeks since Betty and I broke up and she hasn't been calling me back. I have left her hundreds of messages. This isn't like Betty, what if something's happened to her? What if I caused her anxiety to go back up again? What if Jughead actually took her?
I needed to calm down, so I go back to the place we first met. I walk inside and see Todd, what the fuck is he doing here. As I walk up to him I hear the voice of someone familiar, I look who it is and I see Betty Cooper, my damn Betty Cooper.. well not anymore.
Malachi: what are you two doing together! I say slightly louder then I intended to.
Betty: we're..uh..ju-just catching up. She says, fear clearly in her eyes.
Malachi: Betts, I know you better then this and I know the look in your eyes. Did you have a panic attack?
Todd: yes she did. Now can you leave!
Malachi: she is my friend, so maybe you should go.
Todd: no way, I have always been there for her, unlike you, who always ignored her!
Malachi: I didn't cheat on her now did i? I say with a smirk
Betty: stop!
We didn't listen.
Malachi: If i were you I would back off now.
Todd: oh, and are you going to make me? He says standing up
Betty: please stop. She says with a tear rolling down her face. Again, we both don't hear or see her. We are both so focused on fighting over Betty that we don't realise that this is her biggest trigger; seeing people she loves fight.
Todd:if you want to fight you can't just get the Ghoulies to do your dirty work... again. He says laughing.
I get my fist and punch him square in the eye.
Todd: that all you go? He says punching me in the stomach. I drop to the ground
Betty: STOP. PLEASE STOP. She says with tears running down her face as she runs out of Pop's
Malachi: Betts, wait!
Todd: this is all your fault, she was fine until you came.
He was right. Once again I fucked up her life.
Betty POV:
I ran out of Pop's, I couldn't control my tears. So I reach for my phone and call Jason. I know Jason will go into overprotective dad mode but I need someone.
Jason POV:
Me, Archie and Joaquin are home waiting for Betty and Todd to come home. I'm glad she had someone over the past two weeks. There is know way she could do this alone, but then again she is strong and had been doing it alone for about 7 years. I can't bare to think about everything she has gone through, and everything she continues to go through. And not to mention being kidnapped, what the fuck! I wish I could take all her pain away, like she always does for me, a tear slowly falls down my face thinking about everything.
Joaquin: hey babe, what's up?
Archie: yeah dude, what's wrong?
Jason: I just can't let Betty go through all this shit anymore. She has had to deal with so much fucking shit, and I couldn't help her. I probably only make things worse for her. I wish I could help her like how she helped me. If it wasn't for her I would have killed myself. I say looking down, realising what I just said,
Joaquin and Archie: what?!
Jason: there is something me and Betty never told you both, or anyone for that matter. There was one night when I was 14, I was feeling so lost and so alone. The next day I went to school and someone outed me, I barley excepted myself and was definitely not ready to tell the whole school. I immediately ran home and Betty saw me leave. She followed me home. She knocked on my door and I told her to leave. I thought she did. But she went through the back and heard me crying from my bathroom. She started banging on my door, I obviously didn't open, so she said " I'm not leaving till you open up this door ". " your going to be waiting for a while " I say. " I don't mind, it just gives me more time to tell you how amazing you are and how much I love you ". I had been crying for about an hour as she tells me some funny story's about us. I finally open the door and see her face stained with tears. I felt so bad for putting her through that. She stood up and gave me a hug and whispered in my ear " I couldn't live with out my best friend. You mean everything to me. You inspire me everyday and you are always there to cheer me up. Please don't ever scare me like this again. I love you. Ok?" " ok" I say.
Joaquin: woah, is that why you are so protective over her?
Jason: yes. And I still can't help her like she helped me.
Archie: dude, you have done so much for her. And I know how grateful she is to have you.
Jason: I know your right, but I will never be able to repay her.
Archie: if we're all admitting stuff I guess it's my turn. As you all know me and Betty were always close friends. One day we were walking home together when I got a call from the Hospital saying my dad had been in an accident. She came with me to the hospital and she was always there when I needed to talk or cry or-or just needed a break. I new how much she loved and looked up to my father, he was more of a father to her than Hal ever wished he could be. Whilst I was in the Hospital nobody could get me to leave apart from Betty and when ever she new I needed to be with my dad she would constantly bring me food and bring me new clothes. I knew how hurt she was but she didn't show it, she wanted to be strong for me.
Joaquin: wow Arch. I'm so sorry and Betty means a lot to all of us. And you all know how she helped me. Betty has helped all of us in the times we needed her the most. We aren't going to ever give up on her.
Just as Joaquin had finished talking I get a call from Betty
Jason: guys it's Betty!
I turn the phone on speaker and they all gather around the phone.
*Betty and Jason on the phone*
Jason: Hey betts, what's up?
Betty: Ca-can you please pi-pick me up?
Jason: sure betts, where are you?
Betty: outside of Pop's please hurry. She says in between sobs.
Jason: I'll be there in five minutes, stay there. Then I hang up.
*end of call*
Jason: I swear if Todd has any reason to do with why she is crying I will personally kill him.
Archie: ok Jason calm down for now. I will stay here and make her, her favourite soup. Jason and Joaquin take my truck to Pop's and bring her back here. Go!
We do as Archie says and run out the door to his truck.
Betty POV:
After calling Jason and telling him to come I start to try and calm myself down. I tell myself to breathe in and out and to close my eyes. I had been doing that for 2 minuets when I here someone call my name.
Jughead: hey betts, are you ok.
Betts: Y-yeah
Jughead: Betts, don't lie. Why are outside.
Betty: I couldn't stay in there any longer.
I rap my arms around jughead and he places me on his lap
Jughead: Betty, I care about you so much. Ever since I met you if I'm being honest. I hate seeing you this upset, please tell me what happened when you and Todd were talking outside this mornin-
As he was about to finish his sentence I hear Jason and Joaquin call my name.
Jason: Betts, thank god we found you... who are you? He says looking at Jughead
Jughead: I'm Jughead, her boyfriend. Who are you?
Jason: I'm her best friend and your the guy who kidnapped her aren't you?
Joaquin: we don't have time to argue ok! Let's get her home. Jughead your unfortunately coming with us.
Joaquin POV:
Although I'm currently not Jughead's biggest fan he is still Betty's boyfriend, for god knows how long, he's also my boss so I don't really have a choice, Jason turns to me and gives me a look that could kill.
Jason: Fine! Jughead carry her to the truck and we'll talk about what happened in a minute.
We get in the truck and shortly arrive home.
I unlock the door and let Jughead and Betty in first.
Joaquin: make your selves comfortable. Betts, I have some of your clothes in my draw you can change.
Betty: thanks Joe. I will be back soon. She says kissing Jughead on the check.
Jason: terrible in the dating department. Jason says face palming.
Jughead: I'm right here.
Jason: you think I care?
Archie: not now you guys and Jason you know why.
Betty walks back in and she sits on jughead's lap and he smiles at her.
Archie: Betts, please tell us what happened. We're here for you.
Betty: thanks arch
Betty POV:
Archie asks me what happened. I'm really dreading talking about it. Here I go, hopefully I don't completely break down.
Betty: so me and Todd were at Pop's and everything was going fine until Malachi walked in. All there faces dropped and Jughead grabs my hand and smiles at me. I could see through him though, he was jealous of them, he shouldn't be.
Betty: anyway, they started arguing over me, I told them to stop. They didn't. They continued arguing, again I asked them to stop. Then all of a sudden M-Malachi punch's Todd square in the eye, then Todd punched him in the stomach and he falls to the ground and i yell at them to stop and walk out. Jason stands up, his face red with anger
Joaquin: babe. What are you doing?
Jason: I'm about to kill Todd and then beat the living shit out of Malachi.
Joaquin: not today Jason. We will talk about this later. Ok! And Betts you can take my bed.
Betty: I can't do that Joe, you've already done to much for me. I'll just go back to my apartment.
Joaquin: I- we all owe you so much. We all know how much you have helped us as individuals, but if you still want to go back to your apartment, you can on one condition; jughead stays with you.
Betty: is that ok juggie?
Jughead: of course Betts. He says kissing me.
Jason: I preferred her with Malachi. A guy who didn't fucking kidnap her.
Betty, Archie and Joaquin: JASON!
Jason: sorry, but am I the only one that has forgotten he literally kidnapped Betty so he could get revenge on her ex, what type of sicko does that.
Betty: Jason, that's enough! Ok? We'll talk tomorrow. Come on Juggie let's go.
Both me and Jughead got up hand in hand. We got on his motorcycle and went to my house.
