Chapter 8
Jughead POV:
I walk into my office on a rainy and ugly looking day. I sit down and see my gorgeous girl still asleep, I begin to think about yesterday and about the kiss and what it all meant. Were we dating? Did she want us to date? Did she only kiss me because I leaned in and didn't want to be rude? All these thoughts were running through my head, the thought that was killing me the most was did she do this to escape, so she could leave the serpents, to leave me. Still deep in my thoughts I was interrupted by Betty's phone going off again. It has been nonstop ringing since she arrived, someone by the name of Archie and the picture that pops up on her phone when ever he calls is a picture of her kissing him on the check. It made me slightly jealous knowing another guy was calling her. There was also this other guy called Jason calling her, the picture that showed up is a picture of her on his back at some party. I can't believe how jealous I am, I'm sure they're just her friends. Right?
Once again I go down a loop hole of emotions until I am back to reality by the sweet voice of Betty Cooper " Good morning Juggie ". " Good morning princess " I say as I get up and sit next to her, she kisses me. Glad I know she likes me.
" What are you doing today? " I say to her, " not that much, probably hanging out with Todd and Kevin ". Why is she always with Todd. Todd this, Todd that, why is she so friendly with him after everything. " cool, have fun " I say kissing her.
She walks downstairs and I instantly hear her greet Todd, why did I have to let him in the Serpents, that was a big mistake.
Betty POV:
I walk downstairs and greet Todd.
" hey betts, you look gorgeous this morning, like always. Wanna go outside " he says. "sure" I reply back.
Todd: how are you? I mean, really. How are you?
Betty: I've been pretty well actually, my anxiety has gone down a lot in the past 3 years. Thanks to Archie and Jason. They were always there for me, as you know. I say slightly chuckling about Todd telling me about Archie and Jason giving him a lecture.
Todd: that's good. I really am happy for you. And..uh.. I'm sorry if I caused any of that anxiety.
Betty: uh. Don't worry, that's in the past.
Todd: you were always to kind to me and you still are. He says chuckling.
Betty: I can't be mad forever. You seeing anyone?
Todd: never dated anyone after you. How many people did you date after me?
Betty: One, just Malachi. I say looking down.
Todd: hey betts, it's ok, I don't blame you. I'm just wondering how the hell you dated a Ghoulie. He says chuckling.
Betty: we met at Pop's one day and then we continued talking. But we broke up the night I was kidnapped.
Todd: oh, Betts I'm sorry you broke up. He says giving me a sympathetic look.
Betty: don't worry, I broke up with him. He beat up Jason and that was the last straw. We're still friends though. I sigh.
Todd: your to kind to say no aren't you? I mean I know you will always care about Malachi but I saw it in your eyes the night he came into the bar, ( not the Whyte Wyrm ) you didn't have that sparkle in your eye.
Betty: I did love him, but seeing how violent he could be changed everything I new about him.
Todd: enough, I guess you aren't dating anyone... unles- he was saying with a smirk, I instantly new he was talking about jughead so I decided to cut him off
Betty: ok ok, me and jughead are something. I don't really know if we're dating but we are something.
Todd: from leader of the Ghoulies to leader of the Serpents, wow Betty Cooper, never thought I would see the day you were dating someone dangerous, what does mumma Cooper thing?
I just look down.
Todd: betts, I'm so sorry. I can't believe I said that.
Todd reaches in to hug me, I put my head on his shoulder and we stay there comfortably for a while letting some of the tears I had been holding back fall down.
Jughead POV:
I walk outside to get my motorcycle, when I see Todd and Betty hugging, she soon pulls away and says " it's ok, just please don't bring her up again, other wise we both know how it will turn out " she says with a slight chuckle at the end. " I totally understand and I will always be there for you. You deserve so much better then the way she treated you betts, if you ever need me call or if you need me to call those two dorks just tell me, because I want to help you, but they're way better at helping you, ok?" Todd says. " ok " she said back.
Why were they hugging? Why did she look like she had been crying? Who doesn't she want him to bring up? Who treated her badly? Who where the two dorks? And why did she need to be calmed down?
