(Part 1)

Agnes:
The whole workday's nearly passed, and there's still no sign of Joey Drew. Needless to say, the whole studio is buzzing. Henry discovered a while ago that Joey's office is locked from the inside, but we don't think...

*A squeaky door opens.*

Henry:
Hey, Agnes?

Agnes:
Henry? Everything alright?

Henry:
I'm thinking about going over to his apartment. I want to see if I can't find him there.

Agnes:
That might be a good idea. Any update on the door?

Henry:
Not sure. Hey, Wally?

Wally:
*approaching*
Yeah?

Henry:
How's that lock coming?

Wally:
The thing won't even budge. It's like it's glued shut, for cryin' out loud!

Agnes:
Are you sure he's not in there? Could he be out cold or something?

Henry:
I doubt it.

Wally:
I've just about knocked that door in! He woulda come to his senses hours ago.

Henry:
Surely he went home.

Agnes:
Wally, you were the last one out, right? What exactly did he say to you?

Wally:
Well, I dunno. Nothin' that struck me as off. I was tryin' to get to that stupid hinge, and he came around the corner and acted like I was some crook. He wanted me outta here!

*A brief silence, interrupted by a sigh, most likely from Henry.*

Agnes:
Well...

Henry:
Hm?

Agnes:
Have we considered the possibility that he...

Henry:
...Really is in his office, you mean?

Wally:
Well, gee...

Agnes:
Oh, he wouldn't've... he wouldn't've punched his own ticket, would he?

Henry:
Joey's not that kind of guy. He wouldn't do something like that.

Wally:
Oh, gee, with this recession and everything...

Agnes:
Are you sure, Henry?

*A brief, tense silence.*

Henry:
Alright, let's go bust that door in.

Wally:
I'll get the ax.

Henry:
Agnes, you should come with us. And bring that recorder. I think we need to preserve whatever happens here.

Agnes:
Good thinking.
