Now, I haven't spent much of my time in the break room. But a couple'a days ago, I caught Joey eating his soup in there. As though I haven't been working exclusively on frames for the Bendy shorts the whole time I've been here, Joey explained to me the whole story: Henry's character, this little devil guy called Bendy, has caught the attention of the audience, and demand for him has exploded. Joey, he just went on and on, complaining about his writer's block, and how he needed a new idea.
See, I like inventing stories. In fact, I already had a few little Bendy tales of my own in mind. I told him all about an idea I had about that little devil dancing in a castle, and Joey ate right it up.
Today, we got Joey's new storyline. Turns out, this whole thing? It's exactly what I told him! Except it takes place in the forest, which makes no sense—it's a ball! It-it's supposed to take place in a castle, that's the whole point of it! It's... it...
Oh well, it doesn't matter. But now I have a whole forest landscape to work on. Most of it is just trees. Many, many trees.
But I like trees, anyway.
The work is a bit tedious at times, and it's a cartoon—it's just for kicks—but it's still art. After all, it's not every day a girl like me lands a job in the pictures, especially in these tough times. Giving life a more merriment, bringing ideas to life...that's what I set out to do from the beginning, isn't it?
