Q shook her head " It's ok. I just came to walk her to the border. I'll see you tommorow Shay." She left before I could say bye.

He cleared his throat; everyone in the pack knew that when the Alpha cleared his throat, he was either really pissed or really uncomfortable. I'm silently hoping it's not the first option.

" Shayla. I know the circumstances between you and my son are..sensitive, and I know I have no right to ask you this; but I was wondering if you'd give my son a second chance."

My mouth hung open. This is something I wasn't expecting. " Alpha, I know your worried about the fate of the pack, but the elders knew what they were doing when they paired me up with him. Besides, even though he rejects me, he still has a girlfriend, and if we don't work out then he can always get her pregnant, then everything will be in order."

My words came out slow and steady. But my heart was breaking pretty fast.
