Chapter 28

Harry's POV

"I told Jeff that we'd be home in about one and a half hour." Diya said.
"But why? I mean it takes about 15 minutes right?" Louis asked.
"C'mon he's gonna make dinner for all of us. I thought I'd give him a little more time you know." Diya said.
"Ummm, okay. " Louis said.
Niall and Diya were talking about different kinds of foods and I heard Liam's phone ringing.
"Hello. Yeah. Oh, okay. The whole day? Okay. Thanks." Liam said.
"We've got a day off tomorrow. They said that after that, we can't waste even a single minute and we're gonna be very busy. So, that's why a day off." Liam said.
"Oh, okay." I said.
"Since we've got about one more hour to kill, what do you wanna do?" Niall asked.
"Hey, what if we just go for a drive?" Louis said.
"Yeah, I love midnight driving with the windows down. Though, it's not yet midnight." Diya said referring to our lyric.
"Hey, can I tell you something?" I asked Diya.
"Yeah?" she said.
"You remember that line, If you like midnight driving with the windows down?" I asked her.
"Of course I do, the one from Perfect." she said.
"Yeah. So the time I showed you around London, I realized how much you liked midnight driving with the windows down. That's what inspired that line." I said.
"Really? That's so sweet Harry. I didn't think anyone would write something for me." she said.
"But now I'm here. So get ready to read beautiful things about you written by me." I said and kissed her.

"C'mon put some music on." Louis said.
We drove for about an hour and then went to her house and she opened the door.
"Hey Jeff I'm home." she said.
"You sound like a husband telling his wife that he's back from work." Niall said.
"Oh yeah, I didn't realize that." she said.
"Hey, Diya." Jeff said.
"Where is Destiny?" Diya asked.
"She's inside. I've not told her that you guys are coming. Lemme go call her." Jeff said. She walked into the living room and her eyes widened. Her reaction was somewhat like the one I saw on Diya's face when she first saw me.
"Oh My God. I can't believe this." she walked towards us and we all gave her a hug.
"I'm guessing you're Jeff's sister. Thank you so much." she said to Diya.
"No problem dear." Diya said and hugged her.
"I'm such a huge fan. I still feel it's like a dream." she said to us.
"Oh no, we're real." Liam said.
"Jeff didn't tell me you guys were coming. He said we had to make dinner coz a few friends of his were coming." Destiny said.
"It wouldn't be a surprise then." Diya said.
"Do you guys wanna have dinner now?" Jeff asked.
"Oh yeah, please. I'm starving." Diya said.
"Yeah, we all are." Louis said.

We sat on the dining table and Jeff started showing us what was for dinner.
"So this is-" Jeff was saying until Diya said,
"Chicken Tandoori? Wow. Yeah." she said.
"Okay, and Destiny made Fish and Chips." Jeff said.
"And we have Butter Chicken, Naan which is an Indian bread and Biriyani." Destiny said.
"Looking at this and smelling it makes me more and more hungry now." Niall said.
"All this looks so yummy." I said.
"It definitely is Harry. I've missed Jeff's cooking. You're gonna love it." Diya said.
"Now let's waste no time and start eating." Jeff said.
As soon as I took the first bite of every dish he had made, I fell in love with it.
"Wow, you're really good man." I said.
"Yeah, this food is so amazing." Liam said.
"Thanks you guys. I really love cooking. These days I don't get a lot of time coz of college and all you know. But I cook something once in a while." Jeff said.
After eating we decided to just watch TV for sometime.
"You guys wanna see the place?" Diya asked.
"Sure." Louis said.
She showed us the house and at last she showed us her room.
"So, this is my room." she said.
One could easily tell it was her room. It had a midi keyboard, a guitar, a MacBook, a mic.
"Do you sometimes record your own stuff here?" I asked her.
"Yeah, sometimes." she said.
I looked at my watch and it was 11pm.
"I guess I have to get going." I said.
"Hey, can't you stay a little longer?" Diya asked.
"I can, but I guess you should sleep. It was quite hectic for you with all the article stuff you know." I said.
"No Harry, I mean, yeah, I was very tensed about it, but I'm not tired. And anyways you've got a day off tomorrow. So it's okay if you stay a little longer right?" she said.
"I'd never say no to you. I'll just ask others." I said.
We decided to stay a little longer since we had a day off and decided to watch Friends.
We were watching TV and suddenly Diya slapped Jeff on his shoulder.
"Hey, why did you do that?" Jeff said.
"Unagi" she said.
"Oh C'mon, not Unagi again." Jeff said.
"What? I love that episode." she said.
As we were watching it I looked around and saw that Liam, Niall, Jeff and Destiny were asleep.
Diya was asleep on my lap and I was playing with her hair.
"Harry." Louis whispered in my ear.
"Yeah?" I said.
"You know I'm glad you're with her. You look so happy." he said.
"That's coz I am. I am really happy." I said.
After a few minutes of talking we fell asleep.

I got up maybe after about an hour and saw that Diya was not sleeping. I got up and tried to find her.
I saw her sitting on the terrace and she was playing the guitar. I walked to her and wrapped my hands around her.

Didi's POV

I got up and saw I was sleeping on Harry's lap. I knew that once I got up in the middle of the night I won't get sleep again. So I went to my terrace and started playing the guitar. I started playing this guitar picking thing. I suddenly felt to arms around me and I recognized them very well.
"Hey." he said and kissed me.
"Hey, Harry. Why are you not sleeping?" I asked.
"Ummm, I just woke up and I'm not getting sleep now and I actually came to find you." he said.
"Oh, okay." I said.
"So, why are you playing?" he asked.
"I was just playing this guitar picking thing you know." I said and started playing it.
"Can I read what you wrote?" he asked.
"Yeah. But it's just a few lines." I said.
"Sweet creature
Had another talk about where it's going wrong
But we're still young
We don't know where we're going
But we know where we belong" he read the lines.
"Hey, they're so nice." he said.
"Ummm, I don't know. Maybe." I said.
We started singing and almost wrote the first verse and chorus.
"Do you want to have some tea or coffee?" I asked Harry.
"What will you have?" he asked.
"Oh, tea." I said.
"I never asked you, do you like tea or coffee more?" he asked me.
"Definitely tea. I mean, yeah, I drink coffee. But I'm more of a tea person." I said.
"Okay. I'll have tea then." he said.
I made tea for both of us and I heard my phone ringing. It was Melody. Why is she calling at this time I thought.
"Hey, Mel. Is everything okay?" I said.
"Yeah, why?" she said.
"What why? You know it's 3am here. Right?" I said.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry. That kinda slipped out of my head. I just wanted to remind you that you need to come to Boston the day after tomorrow." she said.
We had this thing at Berklee that I couldn't miss and I had a flight tomorrow at 5.30pm.
"Of course remember. I have a flight at 5.30pm tomorrow." I said.
"Oh, so you'll be here at 8pm or something I guess." she said.
"Yeah." I said.
"Okay, okay. Now go sleep. Good night. I can't wait to see you." she said.
"Yeah Mel. I've missed you guys. Really. I'll talk to you later. Okay? Bye." I said.
"Bye." she said.

"So, talking about your flight, I'll come to drop you at the airport." Harry said.
"No Harry, you know the fans will spot you." I said.
"Don't worry about that. We've got a few ways to walk without being noticed." he said.
"Really?" I said giving the 'are you serious' look.
"Yeah." he said.
"Okay, fine." I said.

"So, what to do you want to do when it is almost 3am?" I asked Harry.
"Let's play the Ouija board or try to find ghosts." Harry said.
"Harry, I don't like ghosts." I said.
"I'll protect you." he said.
Suddenly I got this thought in my mind.
"C'mon I'll show you something." I said dragging Harry from his comfy position on the couch.

I opened the door to a room where there was this whole DJ set up.

Harry's POV

"C'mon I'll show you something." Diya said. I wonder what she wanted to show me.
We then walked into this soundproof room where there was this whole DJ set up.
"Wow. Are you a DJ too?" I asked her.
"I try sometimes. But this is Jeff's. He kinda stopped playing once he started his college. He is this huge career oriented guy. Sometimes he forgets that he's got hobbies too. Anyways, I love doing this. I mean it's so fun. You can go crazy and do hair flips." she said. She let me try a few DJ stuff here and there and we also danced a bit. After sometime she decided that she had to do a little bit of packing.

We walked into the living room and saw that all were awake.
"You guys are awake? How come so early?" I asked.
"Well, Ummm, I went in the kitchen to get some water and I couldn't find the glass and so a few things fell here and there and Louis woke up." Niall said.
"And then he and Louis were talking so loudly about how Niall woke Louis up that even we woke up." Liam said referring to himself, Jeff and Destiny.
"Okay, okay." I said.
"So, you guys have got a free day. What are you gonna do?" Diya asked.
"Honestly, I have no idea." Louis said.
"People become happy when they get a day off. But now when it actually happens with us, we don't know what to do." Liam said.
"Yeah, that happens with me too." Diya said.
We just chatted and sang karaoke for sometime. We then decided to go home since Diya had to do a few things since she was going to Boston.
