Bekah and I made our way through the corridors of the college, maneuvering around the bodies that took up the hallways. The bruises on my face had already begun to fade and I had put on some light makeup to cover, just so no questions were asked. I wasn't ashamed of what I did, I love competing, but when people start asking questions it just tended to get annoying and most people think that females shouldn't fight at all.

My train of thought was broken when Bekah snapped her fingers in front of my face.

"Earth to Quinn!" I smacked her waving hand and raised an eyebrow. "You didn't even hear anything I was saying did you?"

My sheepish grin caused Bekah to scoff. "Sorry, I was sidetracked."

"Well what's going on through that hollow skull of yours?" I shoved Bekah playfully before my attention was drawn to the guy who threw his arm around me shoulders. Jaxon leaned down and I turned my face towards him as he planted his lips on mine.

"Morning babe." My heart fluttered at the word babe and I had to remind myself to calm down, it's just a word. Bekah on the other hand was staring, mouth agape, eyes flickering between Jaxon and I. We both crack up into laughter as I reach over and pressed Bekah's jaw shut, "Be careful, you might be able to catch a few flies with that thing." Bekah rolled her eyes at me before Jaxon pressed his lips to my temple and heading off to class.

"So. When in the WORLD were you going to tell me that you guys were a thing?" Bekah began to tap her foot impatiently with her arms crossed and a scowl across her face.

"Come on, let's go to class and I'll tell you everything on the way."

Turns out, Bekah couldn't be happier about the whole thing. She already was trying to think of ship names but apparently she would have to get back to me on that. I couldn't believe how happy Jaxon had made me. It took a long time for me to even look at guys the way I used to and as soon as I started to feel comfortable again, Jaxon came into my life.

Things were definitely changing for the better.

The rest of school went relatively easy today, my hair whipping in the cool air as I began to walk home. Luckily my house wasn't very far but since Jaxon had lacrosse practice and Bekah needed to go to the library for some research I ended up having to walk home. I pulled my bomber jacket closer to me as if in a blanket of protection, it just seemed like I was being watched. Or probably I was just being paranoid, hopefully just that.

Once I reached my doorstep I sighed in relief, turning the key in the lock and opening the door only to be shoved inside and the door to slam behind me.

Instinctively I threw my fists up in defense, wrapping my hands around my keys with one key sticking out in between my fingers as a weapon. "Get out, I don't have any money so you're wasting your time."

My heart stuttered as a deep laughter echoed across the walls before the person before me switched on the hallway light and I gasped, my fists instantly beginning to quiver.

"Who said anything about money? I just want to talk baby." His voice, once alluring and sensual now brought vile to my throat that I fought to keep down. My stomach twisted in knots and it was taking all of my control just to stay steady on my feet.

"Kendall."

His mouth pulled into a smirk as he took a step forward, my feet pulling me back simultaneously. "Baby, I missed you."
