Soon enough, Rose and I were called back down.
We had been asked to sit on couch facing Crystal and Angelina.
Angelina seemed like she was on the verge of tears.
Crystal and Angelina looked at each other, worried, then back at us.
It was quiet for a few seconds, then Angelina spoke.
"Eclipse... Something happened to your parents..."
"Like what?" I asked, being the curious five year old I was.
I didn't think anything could or would happen to my parents.
Angelina hesitated.
So Crystal spoke.
"Your parents... At a concert, there was a terrorist attack... and.. they were killed..." Crystal explained.
I stopped breathing for a moment.
"W-what...?" I said, not believing what i had just heard. In no time at all, i was bawling my eyes out.
Rose hugged me, but i could hear her crying as well.
Angelina had agreed to take custody of me, since I had no family in the area. Crystal added that she could also take care of me, if needed.
At fourteen...
I've been living with my best friend, Rose, and her family since I was five. So, naturally, I think of them as family.
Ever since Crystal, who is now my boss, had told me that my parents had died in a terrorist attack, I have been much more quiet and I have never felt comfortable with others going somewhere for a long time without me.
"I'm going to get some stuff for tonight. Want to come?" Rose asked.
Today was Rose's parents' anniversary, and every year, Rose and I planned something special for them.
"Yea." I replied.
We head out.
"What this year?" I asked as we were crossing the street. Rose was the best at planning things.
