"I still think he likes you," Rosie said later that night. We were skyping and "doing homework".
I gaped at her. "Rosie! He basically told me to eff off! He does not like me! Even if he did in the beginning, it's long gone now."
Rosie shrugged her shoulders. "Whatever. I gotta go, dinners ready. I'll text ya later, okay?"
"Alright," I sighed, signing off and ending the call.
Ugh. My life was pretty good until Braxton freaking Shaw showed up. Why does he have to ruin everything? What was his deal, anyways? He's such a judgement all jerk.
Is he the only one being judgemental?
I remembered Eli's warning, and immeadiatly felt guilty. I guess I was being the judgmental jerk. I'll talk to him tomorrow and see what the frick goes on in the puny mind of his.

The next day at lunch, I saw Shaw and his buddies in the quad. I was planning on apologizing later that day, during the tutoring session, but I felt like I needed to go up right then.
Go
But there's people there, I thought. People can be mean...
Go
No
Go
No!!
Go
...fine.
I walked up to his group and tapped him on his shoulder. Because Braxton was so much taller that I was, I had to reach up a ways. He turned around and when he saw me, his eyebrows went up in surprise, and then down into a scowl.
I cleared my throat nervously. All his friends were watching me curiously. I doubted that they even know who I was, regardless of what Eli said.
"Uh, hi, Braxton. I just wanted to apologize for snapping at you yesterday. It wasn't very nice of me, and I'm sorry," I said quickly. I then turned on my heel and speed walked to the green.
I did it! I thought. An involuntary smiled sneaked onto my face.
When I got to Rosie, she noticed it too. "What's up, sunshine? Why are you smiling so big?"
But I just shook my head. "Nothing, Rosie. Nothing at all."

Later that day, just before the bell rang to let school out, I was in English. Mrs. Opal was letting us have free time because we did well on our last test.
I was texting Rosie about Saturday plans behind a book when a very feminine voice interrupted me.
"Uh, excuse me. Are you Kylee Rou?"
I looked up from my "reading". Her heavily mascaraed lashes blinked slowly over her crystal blue eyes. Her light blonde hair was pulled back into a high ponytail. I think her name was Mya.
"Yeah," I said cautiously.
"Oh okay. I just wanted to make sure," she chirped, turning to leave.
"Wait! Why do you want to know?" I asked.
She giggled. "Oh, no reason."
I tried to call her back to demand an answer, but the bell rang and everyone made a mad dash to the door.
It was officially the weekend!
***
"So, I don't really want to tutor today. How about we do a double session on Monday?" I told Braxton as he sat down.
He gave me a double glance. "You want to ditch," he stated.
I rolled my eyes. "Well, it's not really ditching because we'll make it up. Plus, Mr. Brown said that I can tutor you as long as I see fit, and I don't see it fit to tutor you today."
He just stared at me/
"What?" I finally asked.
"You're weird."
I laughed. "Thanks! Now, I'm leaving so bye." I quickly stood up and fast-walked to the door.
"Wait!"
"Yeah?"
Braxton stood up and walked to me, fiddling on his phone. "Can I have your number?"
"What?"
"Can I have your number?" Braxton repeated.
"Why?"
"Just 'cause."
I laughed again. "That's the worst excuse! But okay, whatever."
I put in my number in his phone. "Monkey face, okay?"
Now it was his turn to be confused. "What are you talking about?"
"Send me a monkey face so I know it's you and not some weirdo."
"Oh, okay."
"See ya, Braxton," I smiled.
"See ya. Have a good weekend."
I giggled again. "You too!"
