I woke up the next morning and Loki was no where to be found. Which kind of sucks but, he's being cautious. He has to keep this whole 'Odin' charade up if he wants to remain here with me. I wonder what he did to the old man anyway. I slipped into another asgardian dress and made my way to the dining hall. Odin/Loki sat at one end but Frigga was not at the other.
"Where's Frigga?" I asked taking a seat. Loki showed a look of pain.
"Frigga has passed away." Loki said in Odin form.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I know how much she meant to everyone here." I replied. Thor came the doors with the one person I wish I would never see again, my father. "Oh Lord," I muttered. Loki and I made fleeting eye contact.
"(y/n)! We need to talk!" Steve boomed. I looked over to Loki and he was doing his best not to pound him in the face. "What happened?! One minute I hear you're flying away with a demon in a space ship! Then, I hear that you're having a baby with the demon!" The words stung Loki, I can tell.
"First of all, Loki is not a demon. And secondly, the isn't any of your concern anyway. Why are you here? Did you come here only to yell at me?" I notice myself speaking like Loki more and more recently.
"No, I didn't come here to yell at you. I came here for you. Because I know that having a baby is going to be really hard on you. I came here to support you." These words shocked me.
"You must be joking. You came here to support me? The first thing you said to me was offensive!" I've never seen my father so angry before.
"(y/n), I don't even know what to say to you right now. I am in complete shock about what has happened. Do you even care about your future? Clearly not since you're willing to throw it away on a criminal!"
"I'm sorry I don't live up to the righteousness that is Captain America. Well, guess what? I'm not that girl. I'm not the perfect daughter. I'm not the straight A student you wish I could be. I will never be as good as you. And, you know what? I'm okay with that. I am sick and tired of trying to live up to your impossible standards. Maybe we can find the scientist that made you special and he might be able to make me perfect for you." Everyone in the dining hall was clearly taken aback by my words. "I'm not even hungry." I stormed back to my room in tears. Why can't I get it right? I'll never be good enough. In Loki's arms I was good enough. But in the eyes of my 'perfect' father, I can never be what he wants me to be. I slammed the door and leaned against it. Loki appeared in my room suddenly. Seeing him made me cry even more. I don't know why. He lifted me up and I draped my arms around his waist.
"Shh... Everything will be okay, I promise." I sobbed into Loki's shirt.
"I wish I could be enough." I said faintly.
"(y/n), you are more than enough. In my eyes, you are perfect. You are the kindest, most brilliant, beautiful, funny— the list goes on and on, darling. It would take me years and years to tell you everything that makes you extraordinary. I love you, (y/n)." I looked up to him and pulled his lips to mine. "So, does that mean you— you uh—?"
"Yes," I giggled. "I love you too, Loki." We kissed once more before he had to leave. Loki had the chef bring a plate of food to my room. There was a note on the plate.
'We gave you an extra cookie. Everything will be A-okay.' - The note read. I'm guessing from the chef. I smiled. Wonder where Steve is. I ate the two cookies. Yum. Asgardian food is so much better than food on earth. I heard a knock at my door. Please be Loki.
"Come in," I said. Oh, it's just Thor. "Hey Thor."
"Hello, (y/n)." He smiled. "I heard about what happened in the dining hall."
"If you're here trying to get me to apologize, save it. That's how I feel and I don't regret saying it." I took a bite of toast.
"I'm not saying you should apologize at all. I just want to let you know that things will get better. Steve sees where he messed up. And, knowing him, he'll do anything to fix things between you two." I hope. As much as I hate Steve right now. I still love him. He's my father, how could I not?
                              "Thanks Thor," I smiled half-heartedly.
"Also, the nurses wish to see you." He stood up and walked me to the infirmary.
"(y/n)! How is our favorite mother-to-be?" The head nurse said placing a hand on my stomach.
                              "Good," I replied.
"Well, that's good. Go ahead and lay down for me while I get some things set up." Ever since the news of my breakdown with Steve happened, everyone has been really nice to me. I guess it pays to have a 'dead' baby daddy and a shitty relationship with my father. I laid down and stared at the pictures in the ceiling.
"Thor, is that you?" I asked.
"Ah, yes, that is Loki and I. At my father's garden party." Garden party? Who knew asgardian Gods had garden parties?
"(y/n), I'm afraid we have some bad news for you." The nurse said to me. "Given Loki was a— uh— frost giant... Having this baby will quite possibly kill you."
"Kill me? Like, how 'quite possibly'?" I asked.
"You've got about a 10 percent chance to live." I shivered at her words. I need to talk to Loki. I stood up.
"I need some air," I walked out into the balcony and exhaled. This day has been absolute hell. Well, except for one thing. I can't believe this is happening. I closed my eyes tightly.
                              'Loki...' I thought to him.
'Go to our room, darling.' I walked over to our room and collapsed on the bed. "Hello, darling. Is everything alright?" I shook my head and covered my face with my hands. "Tell me about it." He laid down next to me.
"I have news about the baby..." Loki looked at me with a concerned look about his face.
                              "Go on," he gulped.
"There's a ninety percent chance that I- well, that I'll die during birth."
"No, no, that's not happening." He stood up and began to pace back and forth. I sat up on the bed. "You're not having this baby. I'm sorry but, that- that can't-." He laughed out nervously. When he does that, I know he's really freaked out.
                              "Loki," I interrupted him.
"No, no, I can't let that-."
"Loki, baby, stop." I wrapped my arms around his shoulders.
                              "I can't lose you, (y/n). You're— you're— all I have." I pulled his body closer to mine.
"Listen to me, ninety percent is a really big chance."
                              "You're right about that."
"Loki... There's a ten percent chance that I have this baby and everything be okay." He looked at me in disbelief.
"Darling, that's basically no chance at all. I am not going to let you have a child that can possibly kill you. I need you and if you— if you die, I don't know what I would do with myself." I kissed his lips softly.
"I love you... But, this isn't your choice to make."
