Basically, it was the best morning ever. I can’t believe what I’ve been missing all the times that Mike offered me to sleepover. Now I see the thug life of Michael Harries. Huh, Harries … Scarlett Harries? Damn Scarlett slow down girl, you ain’t getting married. Scarlett Haley sounds better now for now. Either way, I can’t help but thing about how nice Sean was with me the other day. It’s like he was a changed person. But that still doesn’t make him a good person though. He’s been so bad to me and I don’t think I can ever forgive him. I don’t think I can ever be friends with someone like Sean Polit. No sir.

“Arlie? Panda? Earth to Scarlett. Can you hear me?”

“Oh Michael, stop being such a fool.”I laughed.

“Come on, you’ve been out of this world for about 10 minutes. May I know what you’re thinking about?” He asked.

“Well… I don’t know Mike. The other day … well.. I almost had an accident, and you know who saved me?” I said.

“An accident? Seriously babe, seriously? You should start taking care of yourself. I won’t always be around, you know?” He said.

“Yeah, you weren’t last night either.” Can you feel the irony in the air?

“Oh well, who was it then? “ He asked.

“Sean … “ I whispered.

“S-Sean?” He chocked.

“Yeah …” I kept whispering.

“That son of a b-” He stopped himself from saying that. “However …how come?”

“Well, I don’t know, he was just passing by. He was kind of nice to me though, weird fact, huh?” I preferred not to tell him about our second meeting the other night.

“Not at all ..” He was the one whispering now.

“What?” I asked.

“Never mind, never mind.” He said as he placed a kiss on my forehead. “Are you okay love?”

“Now I am.” I smiled at him.

“I love you, you know that?” He said.

“I know Mickey-Bear, I love you. Oh, by the way … what did Connor want?”I asked.

“Oh… um .. well … no-nothing. Just, um… wanted some help to.. um … unpack something?” It came out more like a question.

“Oh, okay.” I said.

Later that day, after I made sure that “dad’ wasn’t anywhere to be found around home I got back to get some things I needed. I found mom crying on the couch but she stopped by the second she saw me.

“Oh my God Arlie, are you okay?” She hugged me.

“Yes mom, I’m okay. I just came by to grab some things…”

“You’re not coming home?” She asked.

“No mom, not yet. I can’t be around him. I just can’t. After all, there’s nothing that relates me to that man. It used to be the love but I’m not sure if it was just a lie. As for you, the love still keeps us together. I just don’t want that man anywhere around me anymore.” I said.

“Actually, Scarlett, your father …”

“Shut it mom, don’t call him that, he is not my father.” I kind of shouted

She wanted to say something but she hesitated. What’s the matter with this people?

I ran into my room and got what I needed. Books, clothes, my toothbrush, phone charger… I guess I’ll be staying at Mike’s longer than I thought I would. I heard footsteps and the sound of the door opening behind my back. A hand touched my shoulder. His hand.
