Chapter 19
Dr. Phil decided that it would be best if I stayed for the week. So here I am on Friday packing up my stuff. Tommy and Daren were helping me as well. I didn't have a lot but I needed a wheelchair and couldn't carry my suitcase as well.
"You ready?" Daren asked me.
"Yeah, before we head to Mom's place can we go to the barn?" I asked.
"Sure can. I think Boomer's missing you," Daren told me.
Tommy came over to me and helped me into the wheelchair. He pushed me out of the room and Daren followed. We walked, well they walked I was pushed, in silence to the car. I was on the first floor so we didn't need to worry about an elevator. Tommy helped me into my car. Daren got in the driver's seat and drove to the barn.
We got to the barn after ten minutes of driving. Tommy hopped out and came around to my door. He helped me into the wheelchair and pushed me to the barn doors. It was spring so it was really muddy and was getting hard to push my wheelchair in the mud.
When we finally got into the barn I saw someone standing by Boomer. They looked like they were giving her a shot or something. I started to panic. There is no way Boomer can die. I would be depressed and wouldn't be able to live.
The person quickly put Boomer in her stall when they heard footsteps coming their way. The person then took off running. I don't think the guys saw the person. I think I was the only one.
We were almost to Boomer's stall when someone rounded the corner. It was Tristan. He had bumped into the front of me and pain shot through my body again. I let out a small scream.
"Samantha are you okay?" Tommy frantically asked.
I nodded my head. I couldn't get any words out.
"Oh gosh, Samantha what happened?" Tristan asked.
He seemed to be worried about me.
"I was attacked a couple weeks ago and have been in the hospital. Do you know where Harry is?" I asked Tristan.
"No clue. Why do you need him?" Tristan asked.
"I have to ask him a question that's all," I tried to keep my voice steady.
I was lying. I needed Harry to look after Boomer. Especially after I saw that person have her out of her stall. I don’t trust anyone but Harry to look after Boomer for me.
Tristan bought the lie and left. We continued our way down to Boomer's stall and stopped outside of it. What I saw made me want to cry.
Boomer's leg was cut open and on her side there were words that said IF YOU TELL YOU WILL BE NEXT! SEE YOU SOON BABE! The writing was written in blood. I let out a scream. Then I started to cry. Tommy and Daren looked at Boomer with stunned faces. I tried to get out of the wheelchair by myself but fell to the ground instead.
"Samantha! What are you doing?" Daren said as he came and picked me up.
Tommy was still in shock. I don't think he's going to move anytime soon.
"I need to see Boomer. This is my entire fault. I need to tell her I'm sorry," I cried.
"It's not your fault. I'm going to go get Harry. I'll be right back," Daren told me.
I held onto Boomer's stall door as best as I could and pet Boomer's pretty face.
"I'm so sorry girl. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. Will you ever forgive me?" I asked.
