Chapter 17 (Tommy's POV)
It's been a week and Samantha hasn't woken up yet. Cassandra also hasn't shown up at all. She's still missing. We don't have any leads because Cassandra's only enemy is Daren but he's been with me the whole time. Also I don't think they are that big of enemies. I'm just guessing because Daren seems really worried about Cassandra. It would be unusual for someone to be worried about someone if they hate them.
I looked over at Samantha lying on her hospital bed. She doesn't look like the lively Samantha that she used to be. I want the old Samantha back. I don't like looking at her like this. All weak and hurt. This shouldn't have happened to her.
I started to cry softly. I was in the room alone so I let my tears fall. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up at Samantha and saw that she was smiling at me. She looked so sick and pale but her bright blue eyes held some sort of light in them.
"Samantha!" I exclaimed.
I got out of the chair I was sitting in and hugged her. I heard her let out a little moan of pain and felt her wince. I immediately let go.
"Sorry," I said.
"It's okay," Samantha croaked.
"I'll go get your dad," I told her. I went to get up but was stopped by Samantha.
"Don't leave me," Samantha pleaded.
I nodded and sat back down.
"Do you need anything?" I asked.
She nodded her head, "Can you get me some water please."
"That would involve me leaving," I reminded her.
She seemed to think about this for a second before answering, "Okay. Can you send someone in then please?"
"Yup," I answered.
I walked out of the room and into the waiting room.
"Samantha just woke up. I'm going to go get her some water then I will be right back," I told everyone in the waiting room.
Dan and Daren were the first two to get up and go into the room. Mady, Jenna, Sidney, Nick and Jake waited before heading in. They didn't want to over crowd the room. I walked away and towards the cafeteria.
(Samantha's POV)
Tommy just left the room. I was waiting for someone to come in when my phone rang. I went to reach it but a pain shot through my arm. I looked down and saw that it was in a cast. What happened to me? I let the phone ring. It stopped ringing but whoever was calling called back. It did this for the next five minutes till Dad and Daren came into the room. Daren grabbed my phone and looked at the screen.
“It’s an unknown number. Do you want me to answer it?” Daren asked.
“Yeah,” I croaked.
Boy was my throat dry. Where was my boyfriend with my water when I needed it?
Daren handed me the phone.
“Hello?” I asked quietly.
“Don’t tell anyone what you saw,” someone said into the phone.
What are they talking about? I don’t even know how I got in this hospital in the first place let alone what the hell this person is talking about.
“Huh?” I asked.
I don’t want Dad and Daren get concerned so I tried to keep the worry out of my voice and simple words that wouldn’t raise suspicion.
“What happened about a week ago between us and your friend Cassandra,” the person said.
