I was absolutely relieved to hear that Ahnyx was in a very similar situation as I. I thought that I was the only one in this place that wasn’t from around here. I smiled slightly as we snuck out of the hotel. Twilight had long fallen and the ninja’s had finally given up on this place. I smiled once more as I drove us out of the hotel parking lot and followed my gut as to where I should be going.
Suddenly though, something big jumped onto the car. I gasped as I drove, afraid that it would tip us over and make us crash. It seemed that we were getting closer to our destination as well. Shivers ran up my spine, as if I knew what was out there on my roof. I looked over to Ahnyx to see if he had felt it and he seemed to be just as alarmed as I. I began to swerve as we drove, trying to make the creature fall off my car roof. It didn’t seem to be working though and the beast like thing was beginning to claw at the room of my car. I stopped abruptly, catching it off guard and it flew off the car.
I breathed in deeply and then out. I then looked over to where it had landed. It lay in a heap in front of my car. Ahnyx was looking at it wide-eyed. I would have found his expression quite funny if we were in a different situation, but I had to hurry up and think of a way to get away from this thing. That was when something familiar caught my attention. As I strained my eyes to look at the creature, horns protruded from its head and its skin was a deep carmine color. Examining it further and I realized what it was. What the hell was that thing doing in this dimension?!
I began to panic and then turned towards Ahnyx as I began to do so. I wouldn’t be able to drive at this moment. My heart rate sped up when the creature began to pull itself up off the ground. Seeming to think quickly, Ahnyx bent over and drove off from the creature as I panicked in my seat. We sped down the deserted road, leaving the creature behind before it could right itself to see where we had gone. After a while of me sitting there shell-shocked, Ahnyx spoke as he was still leaned in towards me.
“What the hell was that?! You seemed to know what it was.” He had pulled to the side of the road now and we were switching spots because I was still in no condition to be driving. We were off once again.
“I… I’m not exactly sure what it is… but I’ve seen it before. I had seen that very creature in my dreams. One of the dreams where I was dreaming of my home place; my dimension. So that thing was from a different dimension and I have no idea how it got here to begin with.” I said in a hushed voice, paranoia beginning to embrace me. I gulped, trying to calm myself down before I had a heart attack. I had no idea why I was so messed up about it. It had been a long time since I had felt that way because all my life had been out of the norm here in this dimension.
Suddenly, my body went still and I was hit with another vision. This vision was a little weird because I was only getting flashes. Two beast-like creatures were fighting against one another. One of the creatures resembled the creature that had attacked us earlier and the other was a green creature that seemed to resemble some type of lizard. I then saw my parents in the midst of all the chaos and they seemed to be calling out commands to their creatures.
What was this? I then saw myself standing beside them, staring at something in awe. It seemed as if I were entranced by something ahead of me. Before I could look to see what I was staring at, I was ripped from the vision.
I gasped as I came back to reality. It was all so confusing because I don’t usually experience 2 visions in such a short amount of time. I was breathing heavily; the vision had taken a lot out of me this time. I just wished that I knew what my vision-self had been staring at in awe. It just seemed to capture all of her attention and she seemed as if she were looking at a lover. She had also seemed to be a little confused as to what was happening, but I still had no idea what the hell was going on.
It seemed that my parents were at war with someone else. But who could they be at war against in the end? All these questions were arising and I was becoming frustrated because I had no answers for them. I looked at Ahnyx then, only to find that he was lost in thought. I wonder what he could be thinking at this moment. I wonder if it was anything like what I had just experienced. Brushing the thoughts away though, I decided that now would be the perfect time to get some rest because I knew not when we were stopping again. We couldn’t risk stopping and being found again.
Two people had found us already; that being the monster and the ninjas. We just couldn’t afford to make a habit out of it. Sighing and looking towards Ahnyx one last time, I allowed myself to drift off to sleep. When I awoke, I might tell him what I had seen in my dream; even though it didn’t really make sense.
