12: A Confrontation With Loki

 "Well, his name is Hector Hammond," Nick said, as the nurses cleaned up Hammond and laid him in the patient room.

 "He is a brilliant scientist. His encounter with a strange yellow substance gave him this power but we have no clue where he comes from. Not from here but he's from another universe we don't know of."

 "Another universe?" Thor said. "That's tremendous! How could he have come from another world?"

 "I don't know," Nick said. "Only thing is we know that he worked with Doom and they are planning something that might actually involve 2 worlds colliding. Why else would he come from another world?"

 "He also has something on my father," I said. "Doom and the others may know where he is."

 "Indeed, taking one step towards Doom might lead you to information on your father but I would say stay away from him," Nick informed. "It may be a trap."

 "A trap?"

 "Doom could be playing around with you, Serenity. He could use you as a beacon and be working on something else while we're coming to save your butt."

 "He does have a point," Natasha said. "You being in trouble would be our job to come and try to save you."

 "My question is though is that how in the world can Doom make someone come from somewhere else?" Steve asked.

 "I know just who to ask," Thor said. "I'll be right back."

 In a flash, he was gone.

 "He's not bringing who I think he's bringing," Banner said, his eyebrows raising.

 Thor came back, with someone he was holding by the ear.

 "Hey, take it easy!" the man said, dressed in some green, black clothing. He seem to have a golden flat necklace across his neck. He had such light green eyes. Complimented with a touch of very long curly black hair.

 "How did you get the Chitauri to come here?" Thor asked, throwing off the man's ear.

 "Are you serious? Did you guys see the portal I did?" the man said, getting up and shaked his head.

 "I mean is, who did you go to for that? I'm sure you had someone to help you out," Thor boomed in the man's face.

 "Thor," Nick said.

 Thor grunted and turned his head around.

 The man turned to Nick.

 "Well, well, Fury. It's nice to see you again."

 "We know that you sent in the Chitauri from that portal last time," Nick said. "Only who gave you the permission to use their army to come into the portal."

 The man made a small whiny noise.

 "Loki," Nick said.

 "Alright!" Loki said.

 "I'll tell you! I had help but the guy just really creeped me out! I went to some other world place and then we started talking and that's when I asked if I could borrow his army and etc. He said if I put that device thingy on a high tower I could then make the Chitauri come out and plummet the city. Only he had this annoying one follow me and I killed him. I wanted to show that I didn't need no watching over. Though that probably pissed him off and so now I think that he won't talk to me for a very long time."

 We all stared at him speechless.

 "What? It's the truth!" Loki said, waving his hands in the air for effect.

 "So it is possible to bring someone from another universe?" Thor asked.

 "Universe?" Loki said. "I really don't know. I mean, I know it's possible from another planet but universe? I never really tried that....sounds fun."

 Thor gave Loki a are you serious look.

 Loki just shrugged and mouthed, "What?"

 "So planets work but universe doesn't?" Steve said.

 "Pardon me but why am I in this again?" Loki said.

 "We want to know if you can bring someone from another universe," Thor said. "Not that we're going to tell you about our little situation we're having."

 "Like I need to know," Loki said, folding his arms. "I'm taking a vacation right now or trying to. I was just asleep in my room when Thor here comes and drags me by the ear!"

 Thor began to laugh.

 "What's so funny?" Loki said.

 Thor stopped laughing.

 "Look, if someone wanted to bring someone from another universe, it'll take a great powerful machine for you people to do it," Loki said. "Though I have no idea why who would do such a thing. Can I please go back to my chamber and rest? I had a bit of a problem with a Frost Giant."

 Thor nodded and Loki returned to wherever he was.

 "He's my adopted brother," Thor said. "Of course, we're from Asgard. The home of the Norse gods. I do love it when I see him get into a fight with the Frost Giants. It's really funny."

 "I have a funny feeling that Doom is up to something again," Nick said.

 "I'd advise you all to stay here just in case. If nothing comes up, then you may return to your formal lives."

 "So, you're sure that Doom has something on your father?" Hawkeye said, sitting down beside me on the bed.

 We were in some room that was like a small bedroom you could say.

 I was laying on it while I waited for Nick to say ok, time for you guys to go back to your homes.

 "Im sure of it," I said. "Why else would Doom confront me or tell Hammond something about my dad? I'm sure they're keeping him locked up."

 "It doesn't make sense why they would want you to come after him," Hawkeye said.

 I shrugged. "Maybe he's getting on their nerves."

 "No, I would say don't go to Doom anymore. It's obviously a trap."

 I growled and sat up.

 "It isn't. Doom has him and I'm going to go and rescue him."

 "You're not going to go to Doom," Hawkeye thundered. "You're going to stay behind our backs while we confront Doom."

 "Oh, take all the credit why don't you?" I snapped.

 "You're just so stubborn, you know that?" Hawkeye growled. "A stubborn little...girl."

 "Stubborn? Who are you calling stubborn? You're all hotshot and shoot all the targets," I said, coming closer to him.

 "Oh yeah, miss little low accuracy?" Hawkeye said, coming closer to me.

 We were getting so close that our eyes stared madly into each other for anger that our hands accidentally touched each other.

 I noticed this and looked the other way.

 Hawkeye whistled and put his hand on the other side.

 I blowed a hair out of my face.

 "So, do you have better accuracy?" I asked, turning to him.

 "Report to the Center Command Room!" Nick roared.

 Hawkeye looked up at the speaker, then at me.

 "I guess so," he said.
