Chapter 21.

Nicole’s POV

“Ugh..” I streched my arms and walk lazily going to bathroom. It’s Friday and the day our quarter exam will be done. I’m so lazy to attend in school. Wth. Why I’m feeling lazy anyways?

Thanks to Terrence. ‘Cause I haven’t reviewed my lessons yesterday night. It was just a boring-nonsense-wth-day with him. I regret being with him. Tch.

As I entered my bathroom. Yeah. Emphasizing “MY”. First, I brush my teeth and so on. After an hour, I went out to eat breakfast. I know that Mae would cook today ‘cause it’s our quarter exam and we’ll getting late for lunch.

I sat beside her and picked some bacons to eat. I love bacons, really. “Nakapag-review ka?” I ask her while looking at her.

“Na-ah. A little bit. Ikaw? Anong oras kana ba nakauwi kagabi?”

I gulped. Anong oras nga ba? “Ugh..... 2:00AM, I think?” I awkwardly smile at her. Pero, ginantihan lang ako ng oh-so-famous-evil-look niya. I’m so dead.

Tinakpan ko ang tenga ko para hindi madamage ‘cause I know that Mae will rant at me. Ayoko pang mabingi. Help me.

“Pabo. What are you doing?” I slowly remove my hand that covers my ears with my eyes grew wide.

Did she just ignore it?

OMG.

Ignore?

As in HINDI PINANSIN?!

Oo, Shin. Paulit-ulit?

Ngumiti ako. A awkward one. “Ugh. Covering my ears?”

She chuckled. “Yeah. I saw. Stupid. But what’s that covering-your-ears thingy?” My eyes totally drop. Just kidding.

Ginulo ko ang buhok ko at umayos ng upo. “Kasi you’re gonna make shout and hampas-hampas me? You know, I’m just late went home last night.”

This time, she gave me a what-are-you-talking-about look. “Haha. Why would I?” she raised right her brow.

O___O --> ako.

^______~ -> siya.

“Ugh. Nevermind.”

“Okay then.” She stand up and face me. “Let’s go.” She grabbed my hand. With my free hand, I grabbed my bag and carried it.

*

“Ugh.. That’s hurt! Just so you know. Pabo.” I rolled my eyes as she laughed with rolling-on-the-floor moves. Kidding again. Yeah, I love kidding! Whut da hell. You’re laughing ba? Hindi naman. So, walang may pake. Mehe.

“Nagpahila ka kasi sa’kin.” She sitted. I look at her and rested my elbow on my knee supporting my chin and breathing heavily. That was....ugh, a very very very fast. I just experience what runners did. I don’t want to be one of them. Just knowing na tatakbo ka ng mabilis para lang makapunta sa finish line, making me shivers.

“I didn’t. Aish. Ayaw mo akong bitawan e. The hell what you’re thinking!” I walked and sitted on my place and look at her who just sitted beside me. Wala pa namang gaanong tao e. The effin. 6:00PM palang po mga kababayan. Tapos, nagmamadali pa ang isang ‘tong makapasok sa school.

Paano kami nakarating dito? Just want you to know na tinakbo lang naman namin mula sa bahay going here to school. Such a minnie bestfriend. Well, don’t care.

“Namiss ko kasing tumakbo. You know.” She rested her elbow on the armchair and look at me.

Oh. I forgot something. She was a runner before. It’s past tense, you know. “Was” is there. She became a part of the club named “Runners Are The Best Club”. And luckily, during their first National Competion, they’ve won. Reminiscing that time, making my lips form to a smile.
