I ONCE PLAYED games that included criminal cases and mystery files. Most of the crime scenes involved warehouses. One case I solved in game, as far as I could remember, was the suspect hanging the victim upside down leaving her with no clothing. The victim was chopped like pig, and the suspect even used her father's own Butcher's knife.

The warehouse inside we're entering—I'm not sure. But I have a thought that this warehouse might be an abandoned one since the road itself here's left for years as well. No cars have passed here ever since the apocalypse happened. Yet even here in my comrades' matured states, they also have no idea where and how the apocalypse started. It was as if a bomb exploded out of nowhere and no one knew who planted it.

Namjoon's the first in line, while I follow, and Yoongi trails behind with his gun. Namjoon studies the door before us, and I look at it too. Though it has been made of wood, I'm sure one kick could break it easily. There's no handle or anything to hold on, but we already know the door isn't locked. That's the logic.

Namjoon turns his head over his shoulder, his eyes fixed on Yoongi. "Alright. Yoon, Alpha and I will head in first. We'll talk in the com and I'll tell you where's the safest place to hide."

Yoongi nods. I'm not in the mood for talking either, especially here in a warehouse possibly filled with creatures. And over the years, we've realized how they've changed as well. Back when I was ten, they only know how to stagger around and walk like blind men, only knowing their directions as long as there were food to prey on. However as time goes on, zombies went more violent and fast. It's like their stamina increased and they knew how to act except that they're still blind. Thankfully they only have the sense of smell and hearing.

Finally, Namjoon manages to silently open the door. The two of us enter, as I keep myself on guard.

I step aside my thoughts and finally enter past the doorway. Though the afternoon sun hit the roof of the house outside, i so dark in here. The windows are barely open. But from the sides, I'm sure I could hear noises. It's a good thing Seokjin-hyung injected us with something called anti-human smell. I really have no idea, but it'd always come from the abandoned lab in our town.

"Alpha, flashlight." Namjoon whispers in front of me. He keeps his voice as low as he can. I nod and pull out a small one from my jacket then hand it to him. He turns it on and points it towards the noises. The light doesn't seem to bother them. The creatures only stood there, creating noises as they await for a noise to erupt then they would attack to the origin of the sound. Whatever you say, it was still scary. One misstep on a rock or a dead leaf will cause a crackle.

Sharpening my senses, I follow Namjoon up the spiral staircase right next to the backdoor. Perhaps it leads to the farm outside. I turn around at the doorway. The sun's still up, but soon daytime's over. We gotta dispatch this zombies quickly and quietly without distracting any others from those forests before night comes.

He finds a pile of boxes where we could hide. I dive into it and look around, as Namjoon-hyung kneels, hiding behind one of the boxes and pulling out his com. He places the small, black material on his ear. Then he keeps on looking for places by pointing the flashlight.

The noises disturb me, but I have to be steady and focused. I just can't bare to hear them. The sounds are so eerie; I can't even dare to look at them. This will be the first time I'd actually kill a zombie, if it'll happen. A zombie. A monster who killed every person who lived in my former home. A monster who spread the virus not only here, but even to other places.

"Yoon. Found a good spot here. There's a staircase at the back of this warehouse and it leads to the second floor. Meet us there at the trapdoor. We'll unlock the thing."

I turn to Namjoon who had his com removed already.

He looks back at me and nods. "Alpha. Go."

I give him a single nod then I leave the boxes. The thought of creatures wandering here at the second floor never left my mind. I'm sure I saw one at the second floor. Or maybe it was able to get down the stairs? It's hard to read their minds, especially that their brains were only set for biting humans. They are the reason why the virus kept spreading.

Silently, I crouch down as I place the handle of the flashlight right between my teeth. The light goes towards the trapdoor, and I almost startle when I see Yoongi's grim face through the holes.

"Don't make a sound or else you're dead," he hisses. "Hurry up or they'll get out the warehouse. It'll be hard to kill them at night."

I have no time to talk back so I kept my mouth shut and followed his orders. I quickly lift the bar locks and pull the window open enough for him to pull himself over. Soon he's settled and Namjoon met with us. We keep our voices low, and Namjoon gestures towards the end of the balcony, where he'll snipe every creature silently. Yoongi nods and goes.

"I know what you've been worrying about, Alpha." Namjoon suddenly whispers, but I realize he also knows so I nod. "We'll search where that creature is here."

"IT'S NIGHTTIME." All Seokjin-hyung said as we get into the rover.

Yoongi closes the door beside him. "Tch. Of course it is. Sniping those puny creatures hassled me. Some were able to find me but all thanks to this kid. I wasn't dead yet."

"But since we are ran over by night . . . I mean, the zombies get out at night, and they get more active. We have to find the fastest way possible back to town." Namjoon starts the engine as Seokjin makes an uncomfortable shift on his seat. Nobody complained or reacted, so the rover spins and drifts down the now shadow-casted road.

I look again out the window. The sun already passed down the horizon. Soon the sky will be completely black. Even if Namjoon-hyung would speed up to 200 kph, we'd still be chased by creatures. Even in our town, there'd be zombies staggering around. We wouldn't be able to get into our base and what's worst—the anti-smell Seokjin injected only lasted for two hours. Another hour already passed.

If we got out of the car, they'd smell us. We are outnumbered and we all know once we leave this car, we will be facing hundreds of walking dead.

No one talked about what would happen, but Namjoon-hyung keeps on driving as fast as he can just to reach town. Seokjin-hyung taps furiously on his tablet screen; I have no idea what he's doing but I guess it's to do something with our other comrades staying in the base. Yoongi-hyung texted someone through the phone. I don't know who he texted.

It'd be a very long way to reach that abandoned town, but it was the only place where we were able to live peacefully at least at daytime. The creatures only come out at night, wandering the roads of town like lost animals. If we reach home by nighttime, I don't care. I just want to get back home.

I can't wait to see Raventown.

I can't wait to see what it looks like when filled with zombies wandering around.
