Yoongi

HOURS. It feels like forever in this vehicle, with the creatures relentlessly chasing us, there's nothing worse than this. I grab hold of the handles near me as I scream inside my head, my stomach churning, my heart pounding fast. This happened again.

The van goes with a few drifts as Jin turns the wheel, avoiding another group of staggering creatures about to throw themselves against the vehicle. I spare a glance at the others, who are no more than frustrated like me as we hold on for our lives as the creatures chase after us. My eyes peek through the mirror, and not even through my fingers I can count them.

"They don't stop," Taehyung sobs, holding on tight. Everyone seems to ignore him, except for Hoseok and I who turn our heads toward him. "No . . . S-Stop it–"

"It's alright, Taehyung," Hoseok manages to place one hand on the younger's shoulder. The van bumps all of a sudden, making us startled. "Easy, Jin!"

"The roads are pretty nasty, you know?" Jin pushes the control, and now everything seems to get out of hand as we encounter more of them along the road. "Even the dark's killing me!" Suddenly, he steps further on the gas. The headlights increase on power, the road ahead getting more illumined.

"A splitting road," I say.

"Did you contact them already?" Hoseok asks.

"They're still not answering the call," Namjoon sighs, "this is making me mad."

"Well you should be," I tell him. "'Cause for all I know, three of our friends' lives are on the line. All of this shouldn't have happened if the base wasn't burned down!"

"Watch it, Yoongi," Jin warns, which makes me look at him in disbelief. "If it weren't for her, then all of this wouldn't have happened! We couldn't have split apart if it weren't for—"

"Just focus on the road till they lose track of us," Namjoon tells him. "Go a little faster, Jin."

I scowl. "Yah, how can he still focus if we're seeing more stupid zombies whose attention are now drawn to us?!"

"Hyung!" I catch Hoseok sending me a glare. "Now's not the time to—"

"WATCH OUT!"

I didn't know what just happened, but before I can clearly conclude myself, the van comes to a screeching halt. My face unexpectedly lands first against the back of the seat; I groan, retracting myself. "Jin, what was what?!"

As Jin pulls the break, Namjoon seemed like he was able to hold himself from bumping against anything, Hoseok mostly ranting profanities of what just happened, and Taehyung utterly speechless, probably overwhelmed of the sudden escalation. Jin quickly turns around to check on us. "Everyone okay?"

"How can we be okay?" I send him a glare. "Why did you stop so suddenly?! You could've warned us."

Quite the contrary, he ignores me and turns back to Namjoon. "Did you see it?"

"Yeah," I hear Namjoon answer with a relieved exhale, as if he were holding himself together, forcing himself not to express any emotion. I watch the two of them staring at each other that makes me shift uncomfortably. It's like they're conversing just with the eye contact.

There is a mixed look of hesitation, nervousness and fear strained on his face, grimacing. " . . . Sh-Should we . . . should we check it out?"

"What do you mean?" I intervene, completely confused. "How about those creatures? Did we lose track of them already?"

Namjoon turns his head over his shoulder. "Frankly, yes."

"Then what was that over there?"
