Third POV

Y/n and F/n were roommates and helped each other with obstacles they faced in life. Y/n was one who was much more quiet than her friend, F/n, who was loud. The two were polar opposites but they were best friends. So, it was no surprise when Y/n found out what Hamilton was and loved it while F/n didn't. Y/n was the quiet type who wanted to talk but there really was no one to talk to. She could ramble to F/n but F/n would just disagree with what Y/n would say. So, Y/n kept to herself. Meanwhile, F/n invited others over and didn't keep to herself.

Then, Y/n found out that Hamilton was touring. F/n just watched Y/n get excited but they both knew that there was no way they could even go see it because tickets cost an insane amount of money. This bummed out Y/n but she still held hope, despite the fact she was a pessimistic person. She held the tiniest bit of hope and she didn't even know it.

Y/n's POV

I yawned after staring out of the window for awhile. I should sleep better... The thought appeared in my mind but I pushed it away. F/n commented," Wow, tired already?" I rolled my E/C eyes and from where I sat on the couch, I turned on the TV. Instead of watching something from Netflix, I found myself on YouTube. Recommended videos immediately popped up on the TV screen, mostly videos that F/n watched. I ignored them and went to my subscriptions, bored. F/n asked," What're you gonna watch?" I answered," Dunno." I decided to watch Markiplier. F/n huffed," Seriously?" I answered in a monotone voice," Seriously." F/n decided to watch since she was waiting for her friend to pick her up.

F/n walked out the door, saying," Bye, Y/n!" I called," Buh-bye!" I could practically hear her roll her eyes from where she was at but, she was out before I could say anything else. I turned off the TV and went upstairs into my room, slipping on a hoodie, grabbing my phone, and my wallet. I put in my earbuds and put on the Hamilton soundtrack before leaving the house. Outside, it was dark and chilly. No one was really out on a walk except those few joggers who were determined to do their daily jog. I glanced at my phone, checking the time, and let out an irritated huff. It was 7:28 p.m. I hurried through the night, heading towards an animal shelter at the edge of town. When I got there, a smile danced on my lips as I pushed through the doors but everything was dark inside. I flicked on the lights and was met by a loud screech. I frowned and lifted off the blanket on a parakeet's cage. The bird cocked its head to the side at me and I said," C'mon, I don't want my eardrums to be ruined by you." I fed the bird quickly and gave it water before entering the kitten room. I did my work in there quickly and quietly.

I finished my shift at 7:56 p.m. I sat behind the desk waiting for it to be 8:00 so I could leave for the night. I sunk into the chair and answered the frantic texts that F/n sent me.

7:00 p.m

F/n: Where are you?!

Me: I is at work

7:58 p.m

F/n: About how we couldn't see Hamilton tonight

7:59 p.m

Me: Wow, thanks for reminding me

7:59 p.m

Me: Anyways, I'll be back in a bit.

8:00 p.m

F/n: Don't you fucking dare

8:00 p.m

Me: BUH-BYE!

I quickly turned off my phone and felt it vibrate from the texts F/n was sending me. I sat up when I suddenly heard the bell ring. I saw a man walk in. He looked out of breath as if he sprinted across the city just to get here. He had dark brown hair that was pulled back into a ponytail and he had brown eyes. The man glanced at the sign and asked," Am I too late?" I stuttered," Uh, no, no, you're not!" Jesus christ, this was Lin-Manuel Miranda. He was in the animal shelter I work at. Why the Hell is he at an animal shelter? He walked up to the counter, still out of breath, and asked," Um- Do you have any dogs here?" I chuckled," Yes, of course we do." He blushed out of embarrassment. Well, I think it was out of embarrassment. I said," Follow me." I got out behind the counter and he followed me into the kitchen where we cleaned dishes, did laundry, and made the correct food for the animals. We took a sharp turn and while we were walking to where the dogs were, I asked," So, why is the guy who plays as Alexander Hamilton in the shelter I work at?" Lin-Manuel Miranda asked jokingly," What? You don't have random actors walk into your shelter?" I answered," Nope!" He asked," So, you're a fan of Hamilton?" I answered," Yeah, I am. Once I heard the music, I loved it." This brightened my idol's mood and I asked," But, seriously, why are you here? Don't you have a show?" Lin answered," I love shelters. I usually love seeing the animals and I've really been thinking about getting a dog." I nodded and said," Here we are." I opened the door and we were met by the sound of a few barks here and there. Most of the dogs were quiet but some started to wake since Lin and I entered the room.

Lin asked after seeing a few dogs," So, since you know who I am, then who're you?" I answered," I'm Y/n." He said," That's a nice name." His eyes landed on a black lab who was just a little puppy. The puppy was currently standing, biting at the cage. I said," This is D/N." Lin cooed," Aww....he/she's so cute!" I smiled and said," Yeah, they are. They've been in here for a few weeks." Lin frowned and asked," Can I play with them?" I answered," Sure." I grabbed my key and unlocked the padlock and then unlatched the second lock, opening the kennel with a black blur attacking Lin. Lin sat up and petted D/N, eventually making the puppy calm down. Lin stated," I think I'm going to adopt them." I looked at the board on D/N's cage and caught my breath. D/N was a pretty expensive puppy, since he/she was brought in by a breeder. I asked," You sure?" He answered," Yeah, I think I made up my mind. D/N is the cutest puppy I've ever met and he/she has a good personality." I smiled and said," Well..." I looked at the board. My boss wasn't going to be too happy but I really wanted to do this since Lin just made my day. I said," You can get D/N for free. Even the supplies." Lin looked at the board for the first time and his eyes widened, asking," What? Are you sure?" I answered," On the house. You made my day just by walking through the door, so, why not?" Lin smiled and picked up D/N. He said," Thanks, Y/n." I answered," No problem. Now, lets go get stuff for D/N and you gotta sign some papers."

After getting supplies for D/N and signing papers, Lin was going to leave before he asked," Y/n, are you going to the show tonight?" I finished locking the door so the cold night air brushed past us as a breeze. I answered," Sorry but I can't. Tickets are already sold out and I don't have a lot of money to even buy one." Lin's eyes sparkled mischievously and he said," Well, I'll see you later, Y/n." He stuck out his hand and I took it. I grinned and said," Thanks for making my day, Lin." He answered," No problem." I watched him leave quickly with D/N at his heels and then I felt something in my hand. I looked at my hand and noticed a ticket to Hamilton and a piece of paper with numbers scribbled on it. I smiled and looked up to see Lin gone. Well, I guess I am going to see Lin again.
