Third POV
Y/n, a little five year old girl, lost her mother from lung cancer. Then, her father became an alcoholic but he wasn't abusive. He completely ignored Y/n and wallowed in sadness while Y/n was the one who nearly did everything. Then, her father died from a heart attack when Y/n was about ten years old. Her mother and father were her only family, aside from her brother, B/n. B/n and Y/n were always stuck together, no matter what, but that changed when they were forced into foster homes and the two were split up, never seeing each other again. When Y/n was about twelve years old, she got news that her brother died from heart cancer. She was devastated from the terrible news but forced herself to move on and graduated from high school early.
Y/n's main goal in life was to cure cancer. Not just cancer itself but all types of cancer and Y/n was ready to tackle each task. She's met people who have been trying to cure all types of cancer before Y/n was even born and she was amazed at their work, even though they haven't achieved their main goal, such as hers. She got this inspiration once her mother died from lung cancer and then her brother who died from heart cancer. Y/n immediately went to the best colleges out there and graduated. She worked hard like many others but there was something about her that made everyone feel confident. She was usually an outgoing person, always cheerful no matter what. She can get emotional at times but she's an extremely friendly person. She's a good person, most people would say. Y/n worked herself past her limits and when she turned to the age of twenty-four years old, she found a cure.
Y/n was extremely happy because she knew she did something good. She was able to help many others suffering from cancer and she continued her work, studying all she could, and became famous for her discoveries and of course, the cure. She was also extremely proud for those who helped her, more proud for them than herself. You could physically feel happiness and pride beam off of her whenever she was beaming at one of her fellow co-workers. Y/n received many letters, emails, messages, and phone calls from hundreds, maybe even millions of people across the world because of her work. She always said that she wasn't the only person to thank and that was the truth. She had lots of help and finding a cure for cancer at a young age boosted younger people's self-esteem. In other words, Y/n was that one special person who cured cancer.
Months passed and the commotion was dying down. Of course, she got noticed but when she went to visit her best friend, Angelica, she got recognized by a certain man named Alexander Hamilton. Alexander Hamilton was a best-selling author in New York city and Y/n loved his books. She's read every single book that he wrote and was probably one of his best customers.
Y/n's POV
I slung my backpack on, the straps firmly placed on my shoulder and slung over. My hands held the straps, fiddling with them as I anxiously padded through the crowded airport. A small smile was on my face as I spotted Angelica sitting on a chair, waiting for me. I started to make my way over when someone tugged my leg. I scrunched my eyebrows together, confusion written on my face as I looked down at my right leg to see a young child hugging my leg. The child looked at me, their chocolate brown eyes staring into my E/C eyes. I greeted as I began to kneel down to their height," Hi!" I grinned and quickly examined the kid's facial features. They of course had chocolate brown eyes and had poofy, untamed light brown hair and a nervous smile was on their face. From the information that I gathered, they were about maybe four or five years old.
Aww, cute.
The adorable kid greeted shyly," Hi, I'm Philip." I smiled and answered," I'm Y/n." Philip's eyes brightened instantly and asked excitedly," Are you that doctor who made that medicine to help me?!" My eyes widened for a second and I answered," Yeah, I am. I'm the doctor who made the medicine for cancer." Philip attacked me in a hug, wrapping their small arms around my neck. Yep, they're four years old. I returned the hug and asked," Where's your parents, Philip?" Philip pulled away and said shyly," I...I don't know. I saw you and I got distracted..." There was a sad gleam in his eyes which made me want to comfort him but I had to focus on the new task. I asked," What about we go look for them?" Philip nodded and I picked him up, shifting my backpack to make me feel more comfortable and holding Philip while doing so. I said," But first, lets go see my friend. She'll probably know where your parents are." I was surprised I was getting along perfectly with this kid because I don't get along at all with kids. I mean, I am a doctor and all but I just don't get along with kids.
I walked over to Angelica and she looked at me, her eyes widening. I smiled sheepishly and asked," Before you hug me and stuff, can 'cha help me find this kid's parents?" But, Philip was out of my arms quickly and hugged Angelica. I asked," Is there something going on that I don't know about?" Angelica laughed, a smile gracing her lips. She said," No, no. I'm Philip's aunt." I said with a smile," Wow, and you didn't even tell me?" Angelica rolled her eyes and said," If Philip is here, then his father is here. He should be around here somewhere..." Angelica frowned when she surveyed from her perch, more likely her chair, and sighed, shaking her head. Philip was still clinging onto Angelica and I asked," So, uh, what do we do?" Angelica said," Well, we'll go see Philip's father and I'll explain everything on the walk." I nodded and Angelica held Philip's hand. I couldn't help but smile.
As we exited the air port, I demanded," Tell me everything." Angelica chuckled," Okay, geez." Philip still held Angelica's hand, gazing at everything in awe as we walked through New York city. Angelica said," So, Eliza married someone while you were off in Ireland working with that scientist named Ashley Babit." I noticed how she was avoiding Philip's father's name as if his name was the plague but it was more likely going to be a surprise. I nodded as Angelica went on how they're relationship went but things went downhill in her story.
She explained sadly," Eliza...Eliza got in a car accident three months ago and, well, things haven't been doing well. Philip was only three years old when he got lung cancer. He got it before you found the cure, Y/n. He was on the verge of death when you finally found the cure and he started feeling much better and he was in the clear." I nodded, a smile on my face. Happiness was ablaze inside me and around me. Angelica's and Philip's mood seemed to be much more cheerful when I met them earlier. Angelica said," Also, Y/n, I think you'll like Philip's father. He has been reading about your studies and everything you've done. I honestly think you made him happy because you saved Philip and nearly every other living being with cancer." I smiled and said," That's good. I know how hard it is to lose someone." Angelica smiled sadly, a nod coming from her. She said," Also, Y/n, prepare yourself because you're meeting Alexander Hamilton."
Shock coursed through my body and I tried my damn best not to smile like an idiot.
We walked up to the door, Angelica practically barging in. I stood there, nervously looking around but I walked in, heading after Angelica and Philip. I was preparing myself for Angelica to yell at the man for leaving his son so, I decided to plan to intervene if that does happen, which is likely.
I wandered throughout the house, my eyes scanning over everything. Everything was big. The room's were huge and it was pretty easy to be convinced that this place was better than my sucky ass flat in London. I was greeted by the sound of Angelica scolding someone and the front door slamming shut. I walked into the kitchen, confused, and saw him. Alexander Hamilton. My favorite author.
I nervously sputtered," H-Hi!" I cursed at myself under my breath since I startled the man and also because I stuttered. Alexander had dark brown hair that was tied back in a pony tail and brown eyes. He was a short man but he was taller than me which I wasn't too happy about but I decided that's how life works. He stared at me for nearly five seconds before asking," Are you Y/n M/n L/n?" I answered with a soft smile," Yes, I am."
Little did I know, this was the man I was going to marry in a year.
