Y/n found it hilarious that the words on her shoulder said," You're indecent." Her friends joked about it and she did too because it was hilarious. Why did they found it hilarious? The person who'd politely insult Y/n would be her soulmate. Her friend, Lafayette, said that maybe Thomas Jefferson would be her soulmate since he was a bit of a jerk but Y/n denied the idea since Thomas and Y/n usually had to debate in class. Lafayette decided it'd be best to show Y/n his friends since Y/n didn't have that many friends. She was lucky to become the Frenchman's best friend. If they never met then Y/n would have a pretty boring life. She had a good life so far, mostly because she met Lafayette. Her parents died in a plane crash two years ago and her brother, B/N, moved to Australia, far away from Y/n.
It took some time for Y/n to settle with her new friends. She didn't really like the fact that they were very loud, especially Alexander. Y/n and Alexander never really got along. Y/n and Thomas weren't friends at all but the two could deal with living with each other but Alexander and Y/n would kill each other if they were stuck in a room together. It was a sunny day out on a Friday and Y/n decided it'd be a good idea to take a walk through the forest at some huge park nearby campus. It started out fairly well, that is until Y/n and Lafayette, Hercules, Alexander, and John split up. Well, Y/n did on complete accident. She got distracted when she saw a fox and watched it while everyone else who was far ahead of her, walked on without noticing her presence gone. Now, the sky was gloomy and it was starting to rain. In other words, Y/n was lost in bad weather.
Aaron Burr never liked the words on his arm. The tattoo on his wrist said in tiny, cursive letters," We saw each other for, like, three seconds and you insult me!" Aaron usually hid it by wearing sweatshirts, sweaters, long-sleeved shirts, etc. His friends ask about his tattoo and ask what it says but Aaron ignores the questions and changes the subject. He was embarrassed and didn't want to be laughed at. He certainly didn't want to meet his soulmate.
His friends ditched him in the forest and after an hour of wandering around the forest, lost, a storm started to kick in. Aaron hated storms. He was always terrified of them because his parents died from one, much like Alexander Hamilton's family. Aaron never admitted his fear but it was now clear as day when Aaron jumped at the thunder. After each thunderclap, Aaron was convinced he was going to die. His heart might rip through his chest at any moment in Aaron's mind and his breathing was off track. Through the trees, he saw a small figure looking around frantically. Aaron didn't know why, but he sprinted towards the small frame of a person.
Y/n liked storms. They always comforted her but there was a difference.
Storms are comforting inside.
Not outside.
Y/n froze when she heard footsteps and cursed aloud," Fuck." The footsteps stopped and Y/n spun around to see a man with dark skin, dark brown eyes, and wet clothing. The man narrowed his eyes after scanning over Y/n, who was a mess from the howling wind and the cold rain. The man said," You're indecent." A sense of anger washed over Y/n for some strange reason. The tattoo on her shoulder burned but she didn't notice. She growled," We saw each other for, like, three seconds and you insult me!" The man flinched from a thunderclap and then grabbed his wrist in pain. The anger disappeared quickly when Y/n felt the burning sensation on her shoulder and she yelped, nearly tripping at the sharp pain. The man asked," You're my soulmate?!" He looked almost mad at himself. Y/n bit her lip and answered,"...Yeah?" The man let out a shaky sigh after another thunderclap and greeted," I'm Aaron Burr." Y/n responded," Y/n L/n." Aaron smiled and asked," So, are we going to stand here or...?" Y/n chuckled and said," Yeah, lets try to find a trail."
The storm didn't seem to stop after the brief meeting. Y/n and Aaron eventually found a trail and began to tell each other about themselves. Aaron said," I hate storms." He jumped as lightning streaked across the sky and vanishing. Y/n asked," Why?" Aaron answered," My parents died in a storm." Y/n nodded and changed the subject by asking," How did you get stuck here?" Aaron answered," My friends ditched me here." Y/n muttered," Jerks." Aaron smiled and Y/n explained," I was with my friends but I got lost." Aaron laughed at that and Y/n eventually joined him, holding hands and their fingers intertwining. Aaron asked," How did you even get lost?" Y/n answered with a smile on her face," I saw a fox and got distracted." Aaron smiled and apologized," Sorry about what I said earlier." Y/n said," Don't apologize. If you didn't say that then we would've never known that we were soulmates."
The storm began to let up and the crisp blue sky began to peek through dark rain clouds. The sun was starting to set and Aaron and Y/n found a road. Aaron said," I'm going to fucking kill them." Y/n said," I bet my friends are going to report me missing." Aaron said," Well, shit. There they are." Thomas Jefferson and James Madison ran up to the couple nervously. Aaron could see guilt on both of their faces and wanted to laugh because he was okay. He had Y/n. James said," Shit, Aaron, we're sorry-" Aaron said cooly," It's alright, guys." Y/n raised an eyebrow and said," Thomas, I never thought you'd be worried about anyone." Thomas blushed in embarrassment and turned his head away from them. Y/n smiled when she caught sight of her friends and said," They look pissed."
