Chorong

Without realizing, Mark stopped in front of our house."Why are you dropping me off here?" I asked him. He wasn't even paying attention to me. Mark was busy with his phone."Excuse me, but aren't we going to check on Ms. Oh?" I stared at him in disbelief.

"When did you start calling her Ms. Oh?"He asked me as his eyes met mine. I quickly averted my eyes to avoid eye contact, I don't know why I did that. Mark leaned forward as he reached for the handle of the car door. I glanced at him, our noses almost touching."Just go home." He said.

I could feel his breath in this distance. My body stiffened on my seat but I still managed to talk."And, you are going to check on her all alone?" I asked him. His eyes met mine with one-second span, he suddenly pushed himself away from me then accidentally hit his head on the window.

"Ouch."

I cleared my throat."Are you okay?" I asked him. He didn't reply and then left the car, I watched him as he went to my side and opened the door. Mark grabbed my arm and pulled me out from the car." Okay, I'll go home but you have to text me if Hayoung is okay." I said.

"Why would I do that?" Mark asked, his grip still on my arm.

"Because-" I thought of a reason to his question but I can't think of anything.  I bit my lower lip then something went into my mind. I pushed his hand away from me,"Well, I'll take it as an apology from everything you did to me before." I said, nodding to myself.

"Everything that I have done to you for that?"

"And, for firing me as well without hearing me out."

"I'll just take you out for another dinner."

"Yes- what? Can't you just text me if Hayoung is okay? Is it too much for you to type me a message which only consist of 'Hayoung is okay. Don't worry.'? Why would you-"

"I'll text you but take the dinner with me as an apology for everything I have done for you. Actually, have dinner with me for one week."Mark replied which made my jaw dropped. That sounds like a date to me but it's Mark, he will never ask me on a date.

"I'll take that as a yes."He said, before entering his car. I watched as the car lost in sight and then slowly walking towards our house. Well, everything he has done to me? Only one thing is good. I suddenly remembered how he looked like when he was lending me an umbrella. I can't really remember when was that but he does look handsome. No!

It's been two hours since I have been waiting for Mark's text. Did he lied to me? I hugged my knees as I stared at the phone lying before me. Do I really need to know if Hayoung is okay? Is Hayoung my reason or do I just want to hear from Mark? I shook my head."I'll just sleep." I told myself, fixing my position on my bed.

My eyes are still staring at my phone on the nightstand. When I try to close them, I can't help but open it right away."I'll call him if he won't text me."I muttered to myself. No, why would I do that? I bit my lip as I wrapped my comfy blanket around my body. Now that I think about it, I miss my work at his company. That was what I wanted, except the part where Mark was in it. The smell of papers, the sticky notes that were placed everywhere in my desk, and  the sound of the keyboard as you type.

Then, I heard my ringtone- 또또또, 또또또 - I quickly sat up to see Taehyung's caller I.D on my screen. I don't feel disappointed when I saw his number pop up from my screen."Noona, can I visit you tomorrow at your work? I really want to see you." He asked me with his sweet voice.

"Sure, but you can't come with an empty hand. Chocolate cake, call?" I asked him, giggling. He instantly agreed to my condition. Taehyung really always make my day great, his voice is probably one of the factors. We probably talked for a while then I am pretty sure, I fell asleep as soon as it ended.

Not really.

My eyes are wide open, still waiting for that guy's message. You could say I stayed for five hours waiting for it. I can feel my eyelids closing but no, I am not sleeping until it comes. Why are you eager to wait for it , anyway? Right, I can just wake up tomorrow and ask Hayoung myself. I nodded to myself as my eyes slowly closed.

I let the sunlight adjust to my eyes as soon as I opened them. The first thing I did was check my phone and why did I do that? Because, I want to check the time. I mean, why would I try checking for Mark's text? I stretched my arms while yawning. I could smell breakfast coming from the door.

Marching through the kitchen, I was welcomed by a variety of side dishes."What's the occasion?" I asked as I sat on my usual spot. We usually don't have these much for breakfast. My brother - Chanyeol - shrugged then continued eating his own serving. I didn't even ask anymore and started eating.

Mom slapped my arm as soon as she sat beside me, causing me to groan."Ya, Park Chorong. How can you eat so, peacefully? You are going to be late. Hurry and go wash up!" She yelled at me. I nodded while stuffing my mouth with rice."Aigoo, you should also get married as soon as possible." She said.

I almost spit out the rice in my mouth but instead, took a sip of my water."Eomma, stop talking about marriage. I won't get married at all." I said, standing up from my chair. But ofcourse, I didn't mean that. When I was a child, I always dreamt to be married to my husband.

As soon as I reached my room, I went in the bathroom and then washed myself. Refreshing, I thought as I sat infront of my mirror. Something caught my eye and it was a bracelet that was given to me by my mother."I never wore this since I entered college. I might as well use it, today." I said to myself while putting it on.

After doing all of necessary things, I stood up and grabbed my bag. I was wearing a plain white shirt then covered it with a beige jacket pairing it with pants."Mom! I'm leaving!" I shouted as I closed the door behind me.

"How slow can you be?" I heard a voice,  coming from the guy named Mark. He was leaning on his car with his arms crossed. I can't help but... try to kick him where the sun doesn't shine. Mark quickly evaded my kick then looked at the car's scratch."What are you doing? Look at what you have done." He complained.

I cleared my throat."You didn't text me." I told him before walking away. A hand grabbed my wrist but if he thought he could stop me, he was wrong. I didn't stop and tried to continue on my way but he was too strong.

"Hayoung wasn't present when I went there. She is nowhere to be seen,  last night."
