Chorong

I walked outside of the restroom to find Mark waiting for me."Chorong?" He asked then walked towards me.

Mark hugged me, once again. He kept on telling me that he is sorry. I felt like everything was a lie."So, you knew everything since at the elevator?" I asked.

"I never thought I'd see you  again." Mark said. I grabbed onto his polo and rested my head on his chest." Everyone knew except your mother, they didn't want to tell you the truth because they thought it's better like this."

We pulled away from each other and stared."You are telling me, everyone knew about what happened to me. That's .... I don't know." I said."I feel like I don't know myself anymore."

Mark tucked a loose hair behind my ear then smiled."Your dad and brother wanted me to stay away from you but what can I do? You appeared out of nowhere."

"Is that why you wanted to fire me as well?"

"I had to but I wanted to let you stay at least." Mark laughed a bit.

"This isn't something to be laughed about." I said in a louder tone."I was lied to for a year and I thought everything I knew was true, which is not! I feel something heavy inside me that I don't know what to do with it."

"I know."

"I graduated last year and lost my memories from a car accident because I was stupid to follow your car in a middle of the road. Why didn't you showed up?" I asked him, desperately. He just sighed and caressed my hand with his thumb.

"It was my father's plan to take me on abroad but I begged and told him that I am staying here in Korea." He said in a very calm way, opposite of me.

"What was the deal?" I asked him. He must've been surprised that I guessed it. I was about to hear him when a person suddenly pushed me away.

It was a drunk girl, trying to go in. I didn't mind it and waited for Mark's answer."To be engaged." He said with a heavy breath.

"Ofcourse, there is always something."I said, sighing."Is that why your father always took your time? Because you broke up with Mellisa?"

Mark nodded."While we were dating back then, I have to do what my father wants. I didn't want to give you up." He said.

"Why is it that I remember my family and everyone else except you? I forgot every memory related to you." I asked, confused.

"Memories that left you a scar are the ones you tend to forget." He said it like he memorized it from a book."You remembered anything about your mother's accident?"

I realized he did mention that everyone knew except my mother."I didn't know." I said then felt tears started running on cheeks. It must've hurt a lot that I also forgot about it.

He pulled me into a hug again and said,"You'll look ugly tomorrow, if you keep crying like this."

I just laughed at what he just told me and slapped his chest."You can still make me laugh in this situation." I said.

He kissed my forehead which made me feel a little calm."Maybe, we should go back to the hotel." Mark grabbed my hand as he dragged me to the platform where boats are just waiting.

Mark went in the boat first and offered his hand for me to support. I held his hand and put my foot on the boat."Are we not telling Hayoung and Hyunjin?"I asked.

"I'll call them." He told me as he let me sit. A jacket was placed on my shoulder, he must've noticed how I was shivering."You should take a rest."

I nodded before resting my head on his shoulder. He slowly caressed my hair,"Should I let you go?" I asked him.

"What do you mean?" He asked. I didn't try to press the subject but it seems he understood."I'll pretend you never asked me."

I turned my head towards him and slowly grabbed his chin to me."Should I do a last kiss?" I asked as I went in to have a kiss.

I must've fallen asleep on the way and Mark carried me. The sun is already up and all I could think of was my mother. I checked my phone and dialed her number.

"Chorong." I heard my mom's voice. I didn't answer right away because of how overwhelmed I am."What's wrong?"

I smiled."How are you?" I asked her, causing her to ask me what's wrong."Nothing, I just want to know how have you been."

"I am okay." She replied then chuckled."How is my daughter's trip?"

"Weird." I said, laughing as well. We had a lengthy conversation about what she did yesterday and is all about her, actually.

The hotel door opened."You are awake?" Hayoung asked me. I nodded as I sat up."You left the party early. What happened?"

She pointed out my eyes then told me to look at the mirror."Do I look that bad?" I asked as I run towards the mirror.

Hayoung shook her head."You look fine." She said, smiling. I didn't believe her and started panicking."Everything looks fine, I am telling you."

"Did I know you before?" I asked her out of the blue. She was surprised by my question."Of course not. Don't mind me."

She stood beside me."But, I know that we are going hiking today." Hayoung said with such glee. Probably what I need to start the day as well.

Once we were ready to go, we went to meet the boys on the lobby. Mark walked towards me and grabbed my hand."You look beautiful today, as well." He said.

"Hayoung, I wanted to tell you something." I said as I pulled my hand away then walked away from him. I felt my chest tightened but I kept a smile on my face.

Hyunjin noticed my actions and he must've known what happened last night. I should start staying away from now on. That is the first step but it won't be easy. This way it will also hurt less for me in the end.
