TW: NoneEvan's POV
Evan liked the train.
Whenever he couldn't sleep, and stayed up late, he would hear the train.
It was miles away, back in the center of town, but he could hear it loud and clear.
The train was like an old friend, calling out to him.
Except he had no friends.
Connor's POV
Connor liked the sound of the train.
Whenever he stayed up late, hanging out his window and gazing up at the stars, he would hear the train.
It comforted him to know that other people were awake too. Even if it didn't seem like it.
Evan's POV
Evan liked taking walks in the early morning hours too.
His neighborhood was a safe one, and he didn't feel threatened at all as he strolled down the street.
No cars ever passed by.
It was too early for that.
But not too early for the train.
Connor's POV
Connor liked watching the stars.
And people watching.
But he couldn't do too much of that when it was two in the morning.
Except for tonight, when he saw someone walking the streets.
Their gait seemed confident, and the starlight lit up their face.
That's when he noticed it was Evan Hansen.
A boy who, it seemed, was more like him than he thought.
A boy who stayed up late. Looked at the stars. Enjoyed the nature around him. Enjoyed listening to the train.
Maybe he wasn't so alone after all.
