I opened my eyes and groaned.
My skull was throbbing, and the sunlight streaming through the windows certainly didn't help.
Wait.
The curtains in my room are always shut.
Once again, I opened my eyes and looked around.
I was at Evan Hansen's house.
Evan fucking Hansen.
The Evan Hansen that had dealt with me for three long years. The Evan Hansen that tried to help me when no one else would. The Evan Hansen that had finally had enough of my shit and broken up with me.
So why the hell was I here?
I thought back to last night, and through the blurry memories, I remembered him picking me up from the Menlo Bar.
"I s-see Sleeping Beauty i-is finally a-awake," Evan grumbled as he trudged into the living room, a bottle of Advil and a glass of water in hand. I practically snatched the bottle out of his hands, took two pills, and gulped them down with the water.
"Thanks." I croaked, massaging my forehead.
"Do you r-remember a-anything from last n-night?" Evan asked.
"Sort of. Everything's still a little hazy," I told him as I stretched out on the couch. He sighed,
"You told someone to call me to pick you up. You fell asleep in the car before you could tell me your address. So I brought you here." We sat silence for a moment.
"You...you still care about me?" I questioned, looking up at him. I could see a blush rising on his cheeks.
"I c-couldn't have j-just left y-you there!" He protested.
"Still. You didn't have to pick me up. You didn't have to bring me here. You didn't have to let me stay, or bring me Advil, or do anything for me." I challenged.
"Connor-"
"Evan. Answer me. Do you still care about me?" I asked as I stood up.
"O-Of course I d-do Connor. I've moved on, but a part o-of m-me will never s-stop caring.
I hope that was okay YEeT
