Cain clung onto the bars of the window, struggling as he attempted to break out. Compared to the steel he was weak, almost useless but still he tried, pulling at the door as it peeled ever so slightly. Without a word of warning, the door flung open, revealing a young creature. She hissed at him, baring her fangs as he let go, looking at her. Not a word passed between them as she moved out of his way, letting him out of the door. Convinced it was a trick, he kept his eyes on her, hoping it was real... praying it was real, but yet not convinced.

"You can go," she promised as she led him out, down the corridor with the ever-recognisable sickening scent of rust. He fought the urge to vomit, hoping it was not the end for Jack, for him, that this creature wasn't leading him to death, his own death.

Picking at his brains, he couldn't find a reason why they'd let him go, why they'd want a hunter like him to live, knowing their secrets, their ways. Surely, they knew he'd be back with more, an attempt to rescue the brother he loved, adored. Did this mean Jack was gone? Was he walking into a trap, a nightmare from which he could not escape? Was his fate always to join his brother in death, or hunger, an insatiable lust for blood? Was there truly no escape from what had begun?

"You know, if he'd allowed it, I'd have turned you myself... anything to witness that again. There is nothing sweeter than suffering."

"Sick creature! I warn you, tell your boss that his time on earth is coming to an end, that one day soon, he'll die."

He left without hearing a reply, too uncertain, ashamed. His own brother was at the mercy of those... monsters, just like Cain was. There were still vampires on the grounds, patrolling, hunting him no doubt. Whatever game the young vampire was playing, no doubt it was one of cat and mouse. Perhaps they were going to follow him, to see where the others hid, or perhaps they had worse intentions than Cain could imagine.

He hid in the rooms, silently wondering, every turn more dangerous than the last. He bit his lip, searching for something, anything he could use as a weapon against the creatures, but there was little there, an old pipe that could potentially be useless, having been rusted with age. He picked it up, hoping it would work as a stake if necessary yet mentally praying he wouldn't have to use it, it being his only weapon and getting out without one would be near impossible.

"Where is my brother?" he demanded quickly.

"He is beyond your help. Now, if you want to get out, you better be careful. Do something for me, and I'll do something for you," she offered.

"What?" he asked.

"I don't want to be hunted by you, or your kin. If you promise not to hunt me, I'll promise the same," she offered almost playfully, her smile wicked, sickening.

Cain nodded once in agreement, sickened by his decision, but he had no choice, the cards were in her hands, and she knew how to play them, play his mind if she wanted. He couldn't get away, look away, her gaze was hypnotising. "Yes," he agreed finally.

"Very well, come with me. I'll lead you past the guards, but that's all. After that? You're on your own, just be careful... you never know what you'll end up discovering," she warned playfully as she giggled like a child.

He followed her down the darkened hallway. She giggled as the smell hit his nose, more iron... blood. He fought back as his stomach cramped in pain, tearing into him as vomit scurried up his throat. He forced it down as she took him through bending corridors, smiling at him cruelly.

"I wouldn't look if I were you," she warned almost playfully, standing in a door way.

"Move," he ordered.

"I told you, you might not want to see this," she teased.

He pulled her out the way, his eyes catching the sight of a young teen, lifeless... frightened, her tears staining her face, crystallised sickeningly. He walked towards the corpse, the throat ripped into like a wild animal. Reality hit him like a bolt of lightning when he realised... when his mind let him believe it. This was Jack's work... Jack did this... he was a monster now, just like them. He must've known that Cain would come for him and lured him there with others help. Cain was meant to be a meal... Jack's very own meal.

"Get me out of here," he ordered.
