Epilogue

📌: I'll just put here my little message for every single one of you reading this far. I want to say thank you for lending your time and effort reading my work. You guys don't know how happy and thrilled I was while reading your comments. This will be the last shot on this book. While patiently waiting for her to come out from the room, para aliwin ang sarili ko at kumalma dahil sa pag-aalala, I opened our past conversations online. Nag-simula akong magbasa kung saan parang wala lang ang lahat para sa aming dalawa–sa akin. Inuna ko yung conversation namin ni Vivi where everything began.

Suvi activated it again noong naging kami. Kinulit ko siya, I betted my whole life just for her to bring back that account. I wanted to read everything back and remember all those unforgettable memories. Doon kami nagsimula kaya bakit namin kakalimutan iyon?

Habang nagbaback read ako, may isang partikular na parte ng conversation namin ang nagnakaw ng atensyon ko. I carefully read it at parang baliw na napangiti mag-isa. Her jokes are very lame but I admit, lowkey some of it made sense.

I can still remember how I left her on seen that time. Walang niisang ha o ho galing sakin. But still, according to her she tolerated that attitude of mine towards her. The way she explained to me her side before, I realized how harsh I was to her before. Napahalakhak ako nang mapagtanto kung gaano kami kabaliktad ngayon kompara noon.

It started with a weird introduction from her. Akala ko spam lang 'yon noon o pinagtitripan ako ng mga kaibigan ko. Pero 'nung nagreply ulit siya saying na hindi iyon spam at totoo iyon, I got curious. I visited her profile but it was useless dahil wala naman itong laman. First time na may gumanon sa akin and I don't accept unknown accounts kaya naman naging kuryuso talaga ako kung sino 'yun and how that Vivi account became my friend on Facebook.

Noong una wala naman talaga akong balak na magreply but my boredom striked at siya iyong unang nakita ko sa messenger kaya napilitan akong magreply. It was quite fun figuring out who was behind that dummy account.

Days and weeks passed by and I didn't expect I'd get attached especially 'nung nalaman ko kung sino talaga ang nasa likod ng account na iyon. One night Lucas came up to me and told me it was Suvi. Suvi Lee who I always bumped into at the hallways and cafeteria, Jungwoo's cousin. The girl I saved from a creep and the woman whom I didn't know would change my life and I'd spend my future with.

Nung huli naming pag-uusap ni Clara, she made me choose. Siya ba o si Suvi. I didn't answer because I didn't want to compare them. That would be unfair dahil pareho silang malapit sa akin. She then asked me what makes me happy and the only thing that came into my mind that moment was how carefree I am whenever I'm with Suvi. Kung ganoon ang nararamdaman ko bakit pa ako babalik sa taong sinaktan ako? Obviously, the answer to her question is not the one in front of me. Iniwan ko sa school at pinaghintay pa.

I made her upset big time back then. Naghintay siya pero huli na nang makarating ako, she wasn't there anymore. I tried to reach out to her but she wasn't answering my calls and messages. Tinry kong kontakin si Lucas dahil bukod kay Kath, iyon lang naman ang nakakaalam sa mga pinupuntahan ni Suvi. I skipped approaching Kath dahil baka patayin ako ni Taeyong kapag nalaman non na tumawag ako sa girlfriend niya.

Nung dinala ko si Suvi sa paborito kong cafe, I asked for Lucas, Kath and Taeyong hyung's help para tulungan ako sa promposal ko sa kanya that was for their senior high night. And of course para na rin tulungan ako sa panliligaw ko sa kanya. All of it was my idea and they were there to help for the preparations and designs. I rented the cafe for the whole night and asked them to serve whatever she wants.

Who would've thought I'd be this smitten to someone I never expected to fall in love with?

The moment I saw her walking down the small artificial aisle back in that cafe, I imagined her walking down the church's aisle wearing a beautiful white dress. From then, I realized who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.

Siguro nga ito ang dahilan kung bakit ako pinabalik ng tadhana sa bansang ito. I thought fate brought me back for the person, who I thought, was the one. But I jokes on me, it was more than that. Iba naman pala ang rason kung bakit ulit ako nandito.

I smiled crept upon my lips when an idea suddenly popped inside my head. I was thinking of something unique that can make her happy by the time she wakes up and checks her messenger.

Why not return the favor? Suvi deserves it. She deserves everything the world can give to her.

I shifted on my seat and I composed a message for her.

To Suvi, My Love:

Knock knock?

Who's there?

I love you

I love you who?

Don't ask who, Suvi, because it's you. I love you.

Para akong baliw na nakangiti matapos kong i-send iyon sa kanya. God, what did I ever do in my past life that made me deserve this woman? At binayayaan pa talaga ako ng sobra pa ngayon.

Minutes later, bumukas iyong pintuan ng delivery room kasabay ang paglabas ng doktor ng asawa ko. I stood up at agad na napangiti ng malapad sa doktor ni Suvi. At mula rin dito sa labas, rinig na rinig ko na ang iyak ng anak ko sa loob ng silid kaya mas lumawak pa iyong ngiti ko.

I let out a nervous chuckle as I walked near her. "Doc, kumusta po ang mag-ina ko?"

"They are both doing fine and healthy, Mr. Jeong. Congratulations! You can now get inside and check your wife and your healthy son... my handsome and adorable grandson." Nakangiting tugon ni Mama Savannah sa akin and she's also Suvi's doctor.

Parang kahapon lang tita pa ang tawag ko sa kanya and now I'm already part of their family, binigyan ko pa ng apo. Everything felt too surreal. Para pa rin akong nananaginip kahit ilang taon na ang lumipas.

Para akong nabunutan nang tinik nang marinig ang mga katagang iyon galing sa mama ni Suvi bilang doktor ng asawa ko. My wife successfully delivered our baby and they are both safe and healthy!

I found myself proudly smiling while thinking about it. If I can just really pat myself right now, I'd do it.

Good job, Jaehyun.

"Ngingiti ka nalang ba dyan, Jaehyun? Get inside already and see your own family! They are waiting!"

I snapped back to my senses when I heard my mother-in-law talked. Bahagya akong napahalakhak sa sinabi ni Mama saka tumango.

"I will, mama. Masaya at excited lang po," saad ko.

She sighed and nodded. Malumanay niya akong nginitian saka tinapik sa balikat. Bakas sa kanyang mukha ang halu-halong emosyon.

"Please take good care of my grandson and unica hija, Jaehyun. I have my full trust in you."

I nodded and smiled at her in assurance. "Maaasahan niyo po ako, ma. I won't disappoint you and I will do everything for my family."

Tumango lamang siya at iginiya na sa akin iyong silid na pinanggalingan niya kanina.

"Go ahead, hijo. Hinihintay ka na ng mag-ina mo."

I nodded with so much excitement and thanked her before getting inside the room. Damn! I can't wait to hold Suvi and I's baby for the very first time.
